AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 1 OF ORDINANCE NO.
90199 ADOPTED NOVEM BER 8, 1979, THE CAPITAL
IMPROVEMENT APPROPRIATIONS ORDINANCE FOR THE
FISCAL YEAR ENDING SEPTEMBER 30, 1980, AS AMENDED;
BY INCREASING THE APPROPRIATION FOR THE CITY OF
MIAMI/UNIVERSITY OF MIAMI JAMES L. KNIGHT INTER
NATIONAL CENTER PROJECT, IN THE JAMES L. KNIGHT
CONVENTION CENTER ENTERPRISE FUND, IN THE AMOUNT
OF 1,059,0`11 BY TRANSFERRING FUNDS FROM FLORIDA
POWER AND LIGHT FRANCHISE EARNINGS IN THE SAME
AMOUNT; FOR THE PURPOSE OF MAKING A DEPOSIT IN THE
CONSTRUCTION ACCOUNT AS REQUIRED BY THE.PRELIMINARY
OFFICIAL STATEMENT FOR THE ISSUE OF $60 MILLION IN
CONVENTION CENTER AND PARKING GARAGE REVENUE BONDS;
CONTAINING A REPEALER PROVISION AND A SEVERABILITY
CLAUSE; AND DISPENSING WITH THE REQUIREMENT OF
READING SAME ON TWO SEPARATE DAYS BY A VOTE OF NOT
LESS THAN FOUR -FIFTHS OF THE MEMBERS OF THE
COMMISSION.
WHEREAS, the City Commission adopted Ordinance No. 9019 on
November 8, 1979, establishing resources and appropriations for the
implementation of capital improvements in the City of Miami for the fiscal
year ending September 30, 1980; and
WHEREAS, Item IX.B.1 of said ordinance appropriated $3,240,000
from Florida Power and Light Franchise Earnings for the City of
Miami/University of Miami James L. Knight International Center; and
WHEREAS, a preliminary official statement was issued on June 23,
1980, for $60,000,000 in Convention Center and Parking Garage Revenue Bonds;
and
WHEREAS, upon delivery of said Bonds the City is required to make

in the Capital
Improvement
Fund and
the
amount of
$1,o59,o7) can be appropriated for the City of Miami/University of Miami James L.
Knight International Center;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. Section 1 of Ordinance 9019, adopted November 8, 19799
as amended, is hereby further amended in the following particulars:1/
"Section 1. The following appropriations hereby
made by fund and project title include previously
authorized projects and fund appropriations for
implementation of all municipal capital improve-
ments of the City of Miami, Florida. The sources
of revenue to support the herein appropriations
are hereby identified by fund and project:
IX. James L. Knight Convention Center

Section 2. The herein appropriation of $I,pSq,O'11 for the James
L. Knight Convention Center Enterprise Fund is for the purpose of making a
deposit of $1,059,011 in the Construction Account as required by the
preliminary official statement for the issue of $60 million in Con-
vention Center and Parking Garage Revenue Bonds.

Section 3. All ordinances or parts of ordinances insofar as they
are inconsistent or in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance are
hereby repealed.
Section 4. If any section, part of section, paragraph, clause,
phrase, or word of 'this ordinance is declared invalid, the remaining provi-
sions of this ordinance shall not be affected.
Section 5. The requirement of reading this ordinance on two
separate days is hereby dispensed with by a vote of not less than four -fifths
of the members of the Commission.
