A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE BID OF SANDRON
CORPORATION IN THE PROPOSED AMOUNT OF
$36,700, BASE BID OF THE PROPOSAL, FOR
LITTLE HAVANA COMMUNITY CENTER -
BUILDING "A" - ROOF REPLACEMENT;
ALLOCA"-'ING THE AMOUNT OF $36,700 FROM
THE 1'4`iH YEAR FEDERAL COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
BLOCK, GRANT FUND" TO COVER THE CONTRACT
COST; ALLOCATING FROM SAID FUND THE A140U14T
OF $49037 TO COVER THE COST OF PROJECT
EXPENSE; ALLOCATING FROM SAID FUND THE
AMOUNT OF $733 TO COVER THE COST OF SUCH
ITEMS AS ADVERTISING, TESTING LABORATORIES,
AND POSTAGE; AND AUTHORIZIING THE CITY

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF i1IA{y1I, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The June 11, 1980 bid of Sandron
Corporation in the proposed amount of $36,700 for the
project entitled LITTLE HAVANA COMMUNITY CENTER - BUILDING "A" -
ROOF REPLACEMENT, for the base bid of the proposal, based
on a lump sum price, is hereby accepted at the prices
stated therein.

Section 2. The amount of $36,700 be, and it is
hereby, allocated from the account entitled 114th Year
Federal Community Development Block Grant Fund" to cover
the cost of said contract.
Section 3. The additional amount of $4,037 is
hereby allocated from the aforesaid fund to cover the
cost of project expense.
Section 4. The additional amount of $733 is
hereby allocated from the aforesaid fund to cover the cost
of such items as advertisinE;, testing laboratories, and
hostage.
Section 5. The City Manager is hereby authorized
to enter into a contract on behalf of the City of Miami
with Sandron Corporation for LITTLE. HAVANA COMMUNITY CENTER -
BUILDI'IG "A" - ROOF RE' PLACE-7,11"NT, base bid of the proposal.

ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS
Sealed bids for LITTLE HAVANA COMMUNITY CENTER - BUILDING "A" -
ROOF REPLACEMENT will be received by the City Manager and the
City Clerk of the City of Miami, Florida at 2:00 p.m. on the
llth day of June, 1980 in the City Clerk's office, first floor
of the Miami City Hall, 3500 Pan American Drive, Dinner Key,
Miami, Florida 33133, at which time and place they will -be
publicly opened and read.
The project consists of removing the existing clay tile roof
and replacing with asphalt shingles, approximately 160 squares.
The project is located at 900 N. W. First Street.
For any technical questions, call 579-6865, George Picard.
All bids shall be submitted in accordance with the Instructions
to Bidders and specifications. Plans and specifications may be
obtained from the director, Department of Public Works, 3332 Pan
American Drive, Miami, Florida. Plans and specifications are
to be returned in good order and unmarked within 10 days after
bids have been received.
Those minority or target area contractors/small businesses
interested in submitting bids are advised to contact Contractors
Training and Development, Inc. to be provided technical assistance
in preparing bid packages.
The City Commission reserves the right to waive any informality
in any bid, and the City Manager may reject any or all bids, and
readvertise.
Proposal includes the time of performance, and specifications
contain provisions for liquidated damages for failure to
complete the work on time.
In addition to these measures, contractors and subcontractors
will be required to comply with the provisions of Section 3
(Federal Regulation) which require all developers, contractors,
and subcontractors create feasible opportunities to employ
and train residents in the area of the project; and give
preference in subcontracting and purchasing of materials to
businesses located in or owned in substantial part by persons
residing in the area of the project.
No bidder may withdraw his bid within 30 days after actual
date of the opening thereof, unelss modified in Division 2 -
Special Conditions of the specifications. The estimated cost
of this project is $48,000.

recommends adoption of the resolution
accepting the bid received June 11, 1980
of Sandron Corporation in the amount of
$36,700, and authorizing the City Manager
to enter into a contract on behalf of the
City of Miami for the LITTLE HAVANNA
COMMUNITY CENTER - BUILDING "A" - ROOF
REPLACEMENT.
Bids were receive June 11, 1980 for the removal of the
existing clay tile roof on the Little Havana Community
Center Building "A" and replacing it with asphalt shingles.
Building "Atl is located at 900 S. W. First Street.
As reflected in the tabulation of bide, the $36,700 bid
of Sandron Corporation is the lowest responsible bid for
the base bid of the proposal.
Funds have been allocated from the 114th Year Federal Com-
munity Development Prar.ram" for the estimated -mount of the
contract, for project expense, and for such items as
advertising, testing, lzboratoric,s, postage.
