AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 1 OF ORDINANCE
NO. 9019, ADOPTED NOVEMBER 8, 1979, THE
CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT APPROPRIATTIONS ORDINANCE
FOR THE FISCAL YEAR ENDING SEPTEMBER 30, 1980,
AS AMENDED; BY INCREASING THE APPROPRIATION
FOR II.B.1, FLAGLER STREET IMPROVEMENT AND
EXTENSION, BY $37,000; II.B.5., COCONUT GROVE
BUSINESS AREA DECORATIVE PEDESTRIAN -SCALE
STREET LIGHTING PROJECT, BY $25,900; AND
REDUCING II.C.2., S. W. 27 AVE14UE STREET
IMPROVEMENTS,II1 THE AMOUNT OF $62,900;
C014TAINING A REPEALER PROVISION AND A
SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; AND DISPENSING WITH
THE REQUIREMENT OF READING SAME ON TWO
SEPARATE DAYS BY A VOTE OF NOT LESS THAN
FOUR -FIFTHS OF THE MEMBERS OF THE COMMISSION.
WHEREAS, the City Commission adopted Ordinance
No. 9019 on November 8, 1979, establishing resources and
appropriations for the implementation of capital improve-
ments in the City of Miami for the fiscal year ending
September 30, 1980; and
WHEREAS, construction of Flagler Street Improvement
and Extension is complete, and additional funds in the
amount of $37,000 are required for the modification of the
concrete paver base; and
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Department of Public
Works has determined that there is a need to make modifica-
tions to the Coconut Grove Business Area - Sidewalks and
Street Lighting with an estimated cost of $25,900; and
WHEREAS, the City will receive bids for the Coconut
Grove Business Area - Sidewalk and Street Lighting Modifi-
cations on July 8, 1980;
lhU?REAS, it has been determined by the Department of Public
Works that funding will not be required for the S.W. 27th Avenue
Improvements project during the current fiscal year (II.C.2); and
WHEREAS, $62,900 is available from said project for appropri-
ation into the aforementioned projects, II.B.1 and 5;

NOW, THEI— ORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMI•_ SION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. Section 1 of Ordinance No. 90195 adopted
November 8, 1979, as amended, is hereby further amended in
the following particulars:l/
"Section 1. The following appropriations
hereby made by fund and project title
include previously authorized projects
and fund appropriations for implementation
of all municipal capital improvements
of the City of Miami, Florida. The
sources of revenue to support the herein
appropriations are hereby identified

2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances insofar
as they are inconsistent or in conflict with the provisions
of this ordinance are hereby repealed.
Section 3. If any section, part of section, paragraph,
clause, phrase, or word of this ordinance is declared invalid,
the remaining provisions of this ordinance shall not be
affected.
Section 4. The requirement of reading this ordinance
on two separate days is hereby dispensed with by a vote of
not less than four -fifths of the members of the Commission.

It is recommended that amendment no. 12
to Ordinance 9019 be approved to provide
an additional $37,000 for Flagler Street
Improvement and Extension, and $25,900
for modifications to the Coconut Grove
Business Area - Sidewalks and Street
Lighting Projects.
The Flagle'r Street project has been completed and it has been
determined that an additional $37,000 is needed to cover the
overrun in contract. This additional cost was caused by
problems encountered in modifications to the concrete paver
base. ,
The Coconut Gr ve Business -ea - Sidewalks and Street Lighting
Modifications -s currently uut for bids and we anticipate
awarding this project on the July 24, 1980 Commission meeting.
