A RESOLUTION OF INTENT APPROVING THE PROGRAM
RECOMMENDED BY CLARANCE PATTERSON, DIRECTOR
OF THE DEPARTMENT OF SOLID WASTE, FOR THE
COLLECTION OF GARBAGE, TRASH AND RUBBISH WITHIN
THE CITY OF MIAMI, AS REFLECTED AND CONTAINED
IN AN 8-PAGE STUDY ENTITLED: "CITY OF MIAMI -
A PROPOSED SYSTEM FOR GARBAGE, TRASH AND RUBBISH
COLLECTION", DATED JUNE, 1980, AND AS FURTHER
REFLECTED BY A 2-PAGE MEMORANDUM PROPOSING
CHANGES IN SAID SYSTEM, DATED JULY 16, 1980, FROM
CLARANCE PATTERSON TO JOSEPH R. GRASSIE, CITY
MANAGER: FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER
AND CITY ATTORNEY TO FORTHWITH TAKE THE NECESSARY
STEPS TO ADMINISTRATIVELY IMPLEMENT THE AFORESAID
SYSTEM AND PREPARE ENABLING LEGISLATION IN ACCORDANCE
WITH THE MODIFICATIONS CONTAINED IN THE ATTACHED
SCHEDULE.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. It is the intent of the City Commission to
hereby approve the program recommended by the Director of the
Department of Solid Waste, for the collection of garbage, trash
and rubbish within the City of Miami, as reflected and contained
in an 8-page Study entitled: "CITY OF MIAMI - A PROPOSED SYSTEM
FOR GARBAGE, TRASH AND RUBBISH COLLECTION", dated June, 1980,
and as further reflected by a 2-page memorandum proposing changes
in said System, dated July 16, 1980, from Clarance Patterson to
Joseph R. Grassie, City Manager.
Section 2. The City Manager and City Attorney are hereby
authorized to forthwith take the necessary steps to administra-
tively implement the aforesaid System and prepare enabling
legislation in accordance with the modifications contained in
the attached schedule.
PASSED AND ADOPTED THIS 24 day of July, 1980.

SCHEDULE OF APPROVED MODIFICATIONS
TO SYSTEM
1. The distance of 25', as set forth in the Study and
in the Memorandum, is now increased to a maximum of 100'##&* 0Ff?&[ M#
2. The $25.00 container security fee,as recommended in
the Study and in the Memorandum, is now eliminated and deleted
therefrom.
3.The annual fee of $70.00, contained in the Study, is now
set at $75.00.
