FOR FURNISHING UNIFORMS FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF FIRE ON A CONTRACT BASIS FOR ONE YEAR WITH AN OPTION TO EXTEND THE AGREEMENT FOR ONE ADDITIONAL YEAR AT A MAXIMUM PRICE INCREASE OF 10%; AT A TOTAL FIRST YEAR COST OF $16,759.25; ALLOCATING FUNDS FROM THE 1979-80 OPERATING BUDGET: AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER AND THE PURCHASING AGENT TO ISSUE THE PURCHASE ORDERS FOR THESE MATERIALS. WHEREAS, pursuant to public notice, sealed bids were received July 3, 1980 for furnishing of uniforms on a contract basis for one year, with an option to extend the agreement for one additional year for the Department of Fire; and WHEREAS, invitations were mailed to 16 potential suppliers and 2 bids were received; and WHEREAS, funds for this purchase are available in the 1979-80 Operating Budget; and WHEREAS, these materials will be used by the Department of Fire for the purpose of providing Fire Department personnel with new and replacement uniforms; and WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Department of Fire recommend that the bid received from Jules Brothers Uniforms, Inc. be accepted as the most advantageous bid to the City; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The July 3, 1980 bid of Jules Brothers Uniforms, Inc. for furnishing uniforms for the Department of Fire on a contract basis for one year with an option to extend the agreement for one additional year at a maximum price increase of 10% at a total first year cost of $16,759.25 is hereby accepted with funds hereby allocated from the 1979-80 Operating Budget. Section 2. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to instruct the Purchasing Agent to issue the Purchase Order for these materials. PASSED AND ADOPTED this 24 day of July 1980. _ MAURICE A. Invitations were mailed to 16 potential suppliers and 2 bids were received as per the attached tabulation. Four "No Bids" were also received. Funds for this purchase are available in the 1979-80 Operating Budget. This is a regular annual purchase to provide new and'replacement uniforms. The bids provide for an optional one year extension by mutual agreement. It is recommended that the award be made and a resolution be passed accepting the most advantageous bid as received from Jules Brothers Uniforms, Inc. for furnishing uniforms on a contract basis for one year at a total first year cost of $16,759.25, and with an option to extend the agreement for one additional year, at a maximum price increase of 101 .
