The State Legislature enacted a new law relating to ad valorem taxes on June 30, 1980. This new law is entitled Truth in Millage (TRIM Bill) and contains requirements that must be met for the development of the FY '81 Budget. According to the TRIM Bill, the City must determine a proposed millage rate and submit it to the Property Appraiser. This pro- posed millage rate will reflect the levy necessary to realize property tax revenues anticipated in the FY 1981 Budget. The rate is not bind- ing on the City, but must be submitted to the Property Appraiser for • the purpose of preparing tax notices. It is suggested that the attached resolution be placed on the July 24, 1980, City Commission Agenda. 80-595
