HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-80-0555RESOLUTION NO. 8O- 555 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE RE- LOCATION OF THE HISTORIC BUTLER BUILDING TO FT. DALLAS PARK WHERE ITS FACADE WILL BE RESTORED TO ITS ORIGINAL STATE AS CONSTRUCTED FOR HENRY M. FLAGLER; AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO ANY CONTRACTS OR AGREEMENTS NECESSARY TO CARRY OUT THESE ACTIVITIES. WHEREAS, the Miami City Commission adopted Resolution No. 80-317 on April 24, 1980 authorizing the allocation of funds; demolition of a structure at 126 S. E. 2nd Street; provision of utility connections, security lighting, etc. ; and the relocation and facade restoration of the Historic Butler Building to Ft. Dallas Park, subject to its review of drawings illustrating the building in its restored state, set in Ft. The City Commission hereby authorizes the relocation of the Historic Butler Building to Ft. Dallas Park where its facade will be restored to its original state as constructed for Henry M. Flagler. Grassie City Manager July 13, 1930 ' I« Butler Building Resolution Commission Meeting of July 24, 1980 Carl Kern, Director Dep meent of Parka�k�•'- As you are aware from a previous memorandum of July 11, 1930, we have submitted a Resolution seeking final authorization to relocate the Butler Building to Ft. Dallas Park. We intend to exhibit the illustrations requested by the City Commission in the form of a brief slide presentation which Mr. Grimm has suggested should take place at the Committee of the Whole meeting. The previously mentioned Resolution, and acceptance of the bid for demolition of the Gettleman structure and relocation of the Butler Building are also on the agenda. Dallas Park site. This recommendation was adopted in Resolution No. 80-317 on April Z4, 1980, subject to c: review of illustrations showing the building • in its restored state, set in Ft. Dallas Park as it will be developed. Resolution No. 80-317, adopted on April 24, 1980, allocated the funding and authorized related activities to be carried out for this project. Acceptance of the bid for demolition of the Gettleman Building (126 S. E. 2nd Street), relocation of the • Butler Building and related activities is also on the July 24, 1980 agenda. The attached resolution seeks final authorization to relocate the Butler Building to Ft. Dallas Park where its facade will be restored to its original state.
