HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-23-0294City of Miami op Resolution R-23-0294 alldl 11 li.Rl I + Legislation File Number: 14105 City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.miamigov.com Final Action Date: 7/13/2023 A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S), AUTHORIZING THE ALLOCATION OF HOME INVESTMENT PARTNERSHIP PROGRAM ("HOME") FUNDS, IN THE AMOUNT OF $3,760,171.00 FOR HOUSING PROGRAMS, FOR FISCAL YEAR 2023-2024, IN THE CATEGORIES AS SPECIFIED IN EXHIBIT "A," ATTACHED AND INCORPORATED, FOR THE PROVISION OF DECENT AND SAFE AFFORDABLE HOUSING TO LOW- INCOME HOUSEHOLDS; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE AND EXECUTE ANY AND ALL NECESSARY DOCUMENTS, ALL IN FORMS ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITY ATTORNEY, FOR SAID PURPOSE. WHEREAS, on February 27, 2023, the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development ("HUD") announced the final Community Planning and Development Program Formula Allocations for Fiscal Year (TY") 2023-2024, thereby allocating the amount of $3,760,171.00 of Home Investment Partnership Program ("HOME") funds to the City of Miami ("City"); and WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. R-23-0291, adopted on July 13, 2023, the City Commission accepted grant funds from HUD in the total amount of $23,662,699.00 for FY 2023- 2024 that included $3,760,171.00 for the HOME program; and WHEREAS, the City's Administration recommends the allocation of HOME funds in the amount of $3,760,171.00 for FY 2023-2024, as more particularly specified in Exhibit "A," attached and incorporated, for the provision of decent and safe affordable housing to low income households; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The allocation of HOME funds in the amount of $3,760,171.00 for FY 2023- 2024, as specified in Exhibit "A," attached and incorporated, beginning October 1, 2023, for the provision of decent and safe affordable housing to low-income households is authorized.' Section 3. The City Manager is authorized' to negotiate and execute any and all necessary documents, including amendments, extensions, and modifications, all in forms acceptable to the City Attorney, for said purpose. ' The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all legal requirements that may be imposed, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter and City Code provisions.
