AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 1 OF ORDINANCE NO.
8719, ADOPTED OCTOBER 26, 1977, AS AMENDED, THE
SUMMARY GRANT APPROPRIATIONS ORDINANCE, BY ESTAB-
LISHING A NEW PROJECT ENTITLED:"INTERIM ASSISTANCE
PROGRAM" AS PART OF THE TRUST AND AGENCY FUND
ENTITLED:"COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT COUNTY SUPPLEMENT"
AND APPROPRIATING $134,000 FOR THE EXECUTION OF
SAID PROJECT; CONTAINING A REPEALER PROVISION
AND A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE AND DISPENSING WITH
THE REQUIREMENT OF READING SAME ON TWO SEPARATE
DAYS BY A VOTE OF NOT LESS THAN FOUR -FIFTHS OF
THE COMMISSION.
WHEREAS, the City Commission adopted Ordinance No. 8719 on
October 26, 1977 establishing resources and appropriations for grant
funds anticipated by the City of Miami; and
WHEREAS, the third year City/County Agreement of Understanding
executed January 27, 1978 allocated $134,000 from the county for the
City of Miami's Interim Assistance Program; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary for these additional funds to be speci-
fically allocated to the project for which they are intended; and
WHEREAS, the herein ordinance is a proper vehicle to appropriate
the funds;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. Section 1 of Ordinance No. 8719, adopted October 26,

1977, as amended, is hereby further amended in the following particulars: —
"Section 1. The following Trust and Agency funds are hereby established and
resources are hereby appropriated as described herein:
FUND TITLE: Community Development County Supplement
RESOURCES: County Grant $3�,�1�30 $171,000
APPROPRIATION: Little Havana Community Center Day Care $27,100
Little Havana Transportation Program $10,000
Interim Assistance Program $134,000

Section 3. All ordinances or parts of ordinances insofar as
they are inconsistent or in conflict with the provisions of this
ordinance are hereby repealed.
Section 4. If any section, part of section, paragraph, clause,
phrase, or word of this ordinance is declared invalid, the remaining
provision of this ordinance shall not be affected.
Section 5. The requirement of reading this ordinance on two
separate days is hereby dispensed with by a vote of not less than
four -fifths of the members of the Commission.

It is recommended that Section 2 of Ordinance
#9122 passed and adopted June 26, 1980, be
amended to increase the funding for the 'Over -
town Interim Assistance Program by $134,000
to a total allocation of $334,000, per the
attached Ordinance.
On January 27, 1978 Dade County and the City of Miami entered into an agreement
whereby the County allocated $134,000 to the City of Miami's Overtown Interim
Assistance Program.
This Ordinance will increase the allocation for the Overtown Interim Assistance
Program by $134,000.
