J% TO ORDINANCE NO. 8719 ORDINANCE NO.r 9180 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 1 OF ORDINANCE NO. 87191 ADOPTED OCTOBER 26, 1977, THE SUMMARY GRANT APPROPRIATIONS ORDINANCE, AS AMENDED, BY ESTABLISHING A NEW TRUST AND AGENCY FUND ENTITLED: "MARITIME ADMINISTRATION CONFERENCE ON PORTS", AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS FOR THE OPERATION OF SAME IN THE AMOUNT OF $6,000; CONTAINING A REPEALER PRO- VISION AND A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE. WHEREAS, the City Commission adopted Ordinance No. 8719 on October 26, 1977 establishing resources and appropriations for grant funds anticipated by the City of Miami, Florida and for corresponding City matching funds; and WHEREAS, the City Commission adopted Resolution No. on 1980 authorizing the City Manager to accept a "Procurement Authorization" dated September 5, 1980 from the U. S. Department of Commerce, Maritime Administration, in an amount not to exceed $6,000, for the purpose of having the City's Department of Trade & Commerce Development coordinate and produce the Twelfth Meeting of the Inter -American Permanent Technical Committee on Ports in the City of Miami, Florida, October 14-17, 1980; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. Section 1 of Ordinance No. 8719, adopted October 26, 1977, as amended, is hereby further amended as follows: l/ "Section 1. The following Trust and Agency Funds are hereby established and resources are hereby appropriated as described herein: FUND TITLE: Maritime Administration Conference on Ports RESOURCES: U. S. Department of Commerce, Maritime Administration $6,000 APPROPRIATION: Maritime Administration Conference on Ports - l/ Words and/or figures stricken through shall be deleted.Under- scored words and/or figures constitute the amendment proposed. The remaining provisions are now in effect and remain unchanged. Asterisks indicate omitted and unchanged material. All figures are rounded to the next dollar. Section 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances insofar as they are inconsistent or in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed. Section 3. If any section, part of section, paragraph, clause, phrase, or word of this ordinance is declared invalid, the remaining provisions of this ordinance shall not be affected. Department of , Commerce, Maritime Administration, torn. f" coordinate and produce the Twelfth Meeting of the Inter -American Committee on Ports, in Miami, October 14-17, 1980." ?' rn �- We made a proposal, copy of which I am attaching for your in- formation, to the Maritime Administration, in which we offer our City as site, and our Department as Coordinator, of the upcoming Twelfth Meeting of the Inter -American Permanent Committee on Ports. We included in our proposal a breakdown of the anticipated costs of this meeting, which included a $500 as a coordinating fee for the Department. Such proposal has been accepted and a procurement authorization letter for $6,000 has been sent to us to accomplish this task (see attachment). The attached Emergency Ordinance appropriates these funds in a separate Trust & Agency account from which we can pay the costs of producing such a meeting.
