A RESOLUTION APPOINTING CERTAIN INDIVIDUALS TO THE CITY OF MIAMI COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT ADVISORY BOARDS IN THE AREAS OF ALLAPATTAH, DOWNTOWN, MODEL CITY, AND OVERTOWN, IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE CITY OF NIAMI CITIZEN PARTICIPATION PLAN FOR THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT WHEREAS, by Resolution No. 80-563 on July 24, 1980, the City Commission adopted a Citizen Participation Plan for the Community Development Block Grant Program; and WHEREAS, said plan provides for an election in seven of the City's eight Community Development target areas to choose between a Chairperson/ Vice -Chairperson Forum and a 10 member Appointed/Elected Advisory Board as the neighborhood citizen participation structure; and WHEREAS, elections were held in the seven Community Development target areas; and WHEREAS, the target areas of Allapattah, Downtown, Model City and Overtown elected the 10 member Appointed/Elected Advisory Board structure; and WHEREAS, said structure requires that five members he appointed to each board by the City Commission to serve a two year term in accordance with the conditions and restrictions outlined in the Citizen Participation Plan; and WHEREAS, there are two additional vacancies on the Overtown Advisory Board due to a tie for board member and a conflict of interest of another elected board member; and WHEREAS, the vacancy on the Overtown Advisory Board resulting from the tie will be filled by the elected board members and the five appointed board members; and WHEREAS, the vacancy resulting from the conflict of interest requires an appointment by the City Commission.
