A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE MTAMI CAPITAL
IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM 1980-1.986 TN PRINCIPLE
AND DIRECTING THE PLANNING DEPARTMENT TO

FOLLOWIIWHEREAS, in accordance with Section 2-136 of the Code of
the City of Miami, Florida (1.980), the Planning Department has
prepared the capital improvement program; and
WHEREAS, such program is identified as the proposed Piiami
Capital Improvement Program (CIP) for the fiscal period from
October 1. 1980 through September 30, 1986, as contained in
Part I (pp. 14-261 inclusive) of a 294 page document, together
with an Addendum attached to the City Manager's memorandum of
October 9, 1980, which was submitted to the ?Miami Planning
Advisory Board at its meeting of November 5, 1980; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with Chapter 163.316 of the Florida
Statutes, the expenditure of public funds for capital improve-
ments identified in the Miami Comprehensive- Neighborhood Plan
shall include estimated costs, priority ranking relative to
other proposed capital expenditures and proposed funding sources;
and
WHEREAS, the Miami Capital Improvement Program 1980-1986 has
been prepared to partially satisfy the aforementioned State Law;
and
WHEREAS, a capital improvement program is a desirable policy
and management tool to plan municipal borrowing and indebtedness
over a period of time, to establish annual expenditures within a
framework of long-range fiscal requirements and to serve as an
official statement of the City's development plans; and
WHEREAS, the Miami Planning Advisory Board, at its meeting
of November 5, 1980, Item No. following an advertised hear-
ing, adopted Resolution No. PAB_ , by a to vote
approving, in principle, the Iliami Capital Improvement Program
1980-1986;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The Miami Capital Improvement Program, 1980-1986,
as reflected in the preamble hereto, is hereby approved in
principle.
Section 2. The Planning Department is hereby authorized
to annually revise and update the Miami Capital Improvement
Program and submit same to the City Commission.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 6th day of November, 1980.

The Miami Capital Improvement Prcaram 19("J0-1986 identifies all physical
projects valued at 520,000 or rore that are ongoing or proposed to be
initiated during the fiscal period October 1, 1980 throunh September
30, 1926. The 19'0-19P6 Capital Improverent Program has-been approved
by the City htananer. On Nover-,her 5. 19.'0, the 19CO-19U CIF' will he
submitted to the Planning Advisory C,,,ird for revieti and approval. It
is requested that the City Commission adopt the attached resolution,
approvinn in principle the 1920-19,6 Capital Improverent. Program.
