RESOLUTION NO. 3 0 " u 6 3 A RESOLUTION PROVIDING ASSISTANCE TO SIX NEIGHBORHOOD DEVELOPMENT AGENCIES FOR SMART -UP COST IN CONNECTION WITH THE IM- PLEMENTATION OF NETG11130RIIOOD ECONOMIC DEVELOP- MENT PROGRAMS, WITH FUNDS ALLOCATED THERE- FOR FROM THE SIXTH YEAR COMMUNITY DEVELOP- MENT I3LOCK GRUNT, IN A TOTAL AMOUNT NOT EX- CEEDING $20,000. WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution Nos. 80515, 80-517 and 80-518 adopted July 10, 1980, the City of Miami provided financial assistance to Neighborhood Development Agencies for the purpose of implementing Neighborhood Economic De- velopment Programs. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIA1,11, FLORIDA: Section 1. The City of Miami hereby provides financial assistance to six Neighborhood Development Agencies for start-up costs in connection with the implementation of Neighborhood Economic Development Programs, with funds therefor hereby allocated from the Sixth Year Community Development Block Grant, in a total amount not exceeding $20,000. Section 2. The amount that each Neighborhood Develop- ment Agency will receive shall be subject to the prior approval of expenditures by the City of Miami Department of Trade & Commerce Development and shall not exceed the amounts indicated below: "DOCUMENT INDEX ITEM N0. Castano, Director Dept. of Trade & Commerce "It is recommended that the attached Resolution be adopted in order to provide needed financial assistance to six (6) Neighborhood Development Agencies for start-up cost in connection with the im- plementation of the City of Miami's Neigh- borhood Economic Development Program, with funds allocated therefor from the Sixth Year Community Development Block Grant, in an amount not exceeding $20,000." The attached Resolution would provide funding to defray initial costs in connection with the intpl_ernentation of six (6) neighbor- hood economic development projects by community -based organiza- tions throughout the City of i,:iamiIs community development target areas. The Resolution provides for the allocation of a specific dollar amount to each of the six agencies and requires the prior approval of start-up e::penditures by the City of Miami, Department of Trade & Commerce Development.
