On September 3, 19(20, Mr. Juan del Cerro, Chairperson of the Advisory Council on Trade ; Commerce Development, indicated in a letter that the 15-member Council consisted of an active membership of 8 persons and was therefore in need of 7 appointments to fill existing vacancies. A memorandum was subsequently sent to the City Commission informing them of the 7 existing vacancies and requesting names and resumes of their nominees. The membership of the Advisory Council on Trade & Commerce Development consists of representatives of the following areas in the private sector: 1. Academia 2. Airlines 3. Banking & Finance 4. Phis Council was created on February 26, 1979 for the purpose of studying the economic development efforts of the City of t'iami, to share with City officials the point of view of the private sector vis-a-vis these development efforts, to serve as a conduit between the City and the business sector and to recommend strategies and plans of action which would maximize the impact of development efforts in the City. Appointments to this Council have been representatives of the following _ areas of the private sector; Academia, Airlines, Banking and Finance, Economic Development, Industrial and Manufacturing, Media, Professional Services, Real Estate, Retail and Utilities. The present vacancies leave a void in the areas of Airlines, Vedia and Professional Services so you may want to i,iake appointments of persons in these areas. Appointments to this Council will be scheduled for the October 30, 1980 City Commission meeting.
