RETIREMENT BOARD OF THE MIAMI CITY GENERAL EMPLOi'C1:S' RETIREMENT PLAN. WHEREAS, pursuant to court order, the recent amendments to the Citv's retirement ordinances have not yet become operative; and WHEREAS, the ordinance creating the Miami City General Employees Retirement Plan also provided for the election of members to the Retirement Board by Plan Members (Ordinance No. 5624); and WHEREAS, an election was duly scheduled for December 8, 1980 for the purpose of electing one such Board Member to two positions on said Board; and WHEREAS, onlv one candidate was nominated for each of said positions, thereby eliminating the need for the casting of ballots at said election and resulting in the election of the following: SEAT 9 I LOUIS A. do JESUS SEAT -`2 ILIA TEEMS NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF 1,11IAM1, FLORIDA: Section 1. The election of LOUIS A. de JESUS to Seat #1 and ILIA TEEMS to Seat #2 to the Retirement Board of the Miami City General Employees' Retirement Plan is hereby confirmed. FOSMOEN C Manage ,•,.�_� l LJo Jacc All Department Heads are hereby requested to immediately post and communicate - the contents of this memorandum to all employees under their jurisdiction. The Employee Election had been scheduled to take place on Monday, December 8,, 1980. As of the deadline for qualifying, Monday -December 1, 1980, only two employees had qualified, one for each of the respective Seats which were due to expire on December 31, 1980 (Seat .'`l and Seat Q). Ilia Teems qualified for Seat #2 (unopposed) and Louis A. de Jesus qualified for Seat ;rl (unopposed). -z f Since these candidates are unopposed, I am declaring them to be the new Employee Representatives on the Retirement Plan Board, and hereby cancel the Employee Election hereinabove referred to.
