WHEREAS, pursuant to public notice, sealed bids were received November 1.8, 1980 for the furnishing; of automotive equipment for the Department of Building and Vehicle Maintenance; and WHEREAS, invitaLions were mailed to 58 potential suppliers and 8 bids were received; and WHEREAS, funds for this purchase are available in the 1.980-81 Equipment Replacement Fund of the Department of Building; and Vehicle Maintenance in the amount of 5804,250.00 and the 1980-81 New Equipment Fund of the Department of Police in the amount of 5289,295.60; and WHEREAS, this equipment Will he used by the Department of Building and Vehicle i•laintenance for the purpose of replacement of worn equipment and addi- tions to the Department of Police; and WM-.REAS, the City Manager and the Department of Building and Vehicle Maintenance recommend that the bids received from Hollywood Chrysler Plymouth, Figueredo Chevrolet, GMC Truck & Coach Division, and Friendly Ford be accepted as the most advantageous bids to the City; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1.
