It is recommended that a Resolution be
passed allocating from the 1916 Fire
Fighting# Fire Prevention and Rescue
Facilities Bond Fund the sum of $7#500
to cover expense of changing the color
specifications for five (5) recently
acquired 104=ft Aerial Ladder Trucks.
The Department of Fire has five (5) 104' Aerial Ladder Trucks which wore
acquired in 1979 and 1980. The original specifications provided for the
boom portion of the trucks to be painted white: however, the Department
has experienced problems in cleaning and maintaining them, particularly
after a fire. The manufacturer, Ladder Towers, Inc., has agreed to repaint
the booms from white to gray to conform with our new specifications if the
City would pay a portion of the overall expense. The City's portion of
this cost ($18,000) would be $7,500.
Funds are available in the 1976 Fire Fighting, Fire Prevention and Rescue
Facilities Bond Fund.
The Fire Department concurs with this recommendation,
