I I A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING A.PRIL 1981, AS THE DATE FOR A PUBLIC HEAR- ING CONCERNING ISSUANCE OF A DEVEL- OPMENT ORDER FOR THE DOWNTOWN GOVERN- NIENT CENTER, A DEVELOPMENT OF RE- GIONAL IMPACT TO BE LOCATED IN DOWN- TOWN MIAMI WHEREAS, Chapter 380.06 Florida Statutes "Florida Land and Water Environmental- Management Act" requires local govern- ment to establish a date certain, and give public notice,, for a local public hearing on an Application for Development Approval for a Development of Regional Impact prior to issueing a Development Order; and WHEREAS, tho South Florida Regional Plcunning Coun- cil ham not.i fi(,d the City o(' Miami that the Application for I)c,ve,lopment Approval contains sufficient information for their review and that a local public hearing could be sched- uled for the Downtown Government Center, a Development of Regional Impact, to be located in Downtown Miami: and WHEREAS, Chapter 380.06 Florida Statutes requires local government to set a public hearing date at its next scheduled meeting after the receipt of such a letter and to give at least sixty (60) days notice of the hearing; NOW, THEREFORE., BE IT RESOLVED BY THE C01MAIISSION OF THE CITY 01' MA`'I, PMPIDA: Section 1. A public hearing shall be held at 2:30 p.m., April 23, 1981 or at a reconvened meeting, in City Com- mission Chambers, 3500 Pan American Drive, Miami, Florida 33133 concerning issuance of a Development Order for the Downtown Government Center, a Development of Regional Im- pact, to be located in Downtown Miami. Section 2. Fosmoen City Manager Jim Red , Director Planning Department February 11, 1981 Deve:lonment of Re,firnnaJ Impact Hearing: Downitown Gvv:1rnment Center It is requested that the Commission establish April 23, 1981 as the date of the Development of Regional Im- pact public hearing for the Down- town Government- Center, per the attached resolution. Per Chapter 380.06 F.S., local government is required to set a date cer- tain and to give public notice 60 days in advance of a required public hearing on an Application for Development Approval of a Development of Regional Impact, prior to issuing a Development Order. By letter of February 10, 1981 (attached) the South Florida Regional PlP.n- ning Council has stated that the Downtown Government Center Application for Development Approval contained sufficient information for their review and would be tentatively scheduled on the Council agenda of April 6, 1981. Further, the letter stated that the Development of Regional Impact public nearing must be set at the next scheduled meeting of the Commission and advertised at least 60 days in advance of the hearing, per Chapter 380.06 F.S. It is requested that the Comrnissinn consider the setting of the hearing date at their meeti.nq of February 11, 1981, and establish April 23, 1981 as the Development of Regional Impact public hearing date for the Down- town Government Center, which would allow for the required 60 day public notice.
