MINIMUM RESERVE OF 30 POLICE OFFICERS IS AVAILABLE
AND STANDTNG BY TO RESPO;;D TO ANY EMERGENCY ARISING
AT SUCH FESTIVAL.
WHEREDAS, the Kiwanis Club of Little Havana, a nonprofit
corporation under the laws of the State of Florida, has requested
assistance from the City of Miami in connection with the 4th
Annual Open House 8 Festival (Calle Ocho) to be held on S.W.
8th Street from 11:00 A.?!. to 10:00 P.A. on March 8, 1981;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF 1111AI4I, FLORIDA:
Section 1. In order to establish a temporary pedestrian
mall, the following streets are hereby closed to through traffic
on March 8, 1981, during the hours from 11:00 A.11. to 10:00 P.M.
for the 4th Annual Open House 8 Festival. (Calle Ocho); such
closing of streets being subject to the issuance of permits by
the Police and Fire Departments;
(a) S.W. 8th Street from Beacom Boulevard
to S.W.12th Avenue;
(b) All streets and avenues intersecting
the area listed above.
Section 2. Pursuant to the provisions of Ordinance No.
8851, enacted September 28, 1978, all retail peddlers' occupa-
tional licenses issued under the provisions of Chapter 39 of the
Code of the City of Miami, Florida (1980), as amended, will not

Section 3. The City 'tanager is hereby authorized to execute
a support agreement setting forth the conditions under which the
City will provide services and a cash assistance grant to be
used to pay for festival costs in the total amount of $14,271,
Section 4. The City ?tanager is instructed to insure a
minimum reserve of 30 police officers on standby to respond to
any emergency arising during the festival.
