WHEREDAS, the Kiwanis Club of Little Havana, a nonprofit corporation under the laws of the State of Florida, has requested assistance from the City of Miami in connection with the 4th Annual Open House 8 Festival (Calle Ocho) to be held on S.W. 8th Street from 11:00 A.?!. to 10:00 P.A. on March 8, 1981; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF 1111AI4I, FLORIDA: Section 1. In order to establish a temporary pedestrian mall, the following streets are hereby closed to through traffic on March 8, 1981, during the hours from 11:00 A.11. to 10:00 P.M. for the 4th Annual Open House 8 Festival. (Calle Ocho); such closing of streets being subject to the issuance of permits by the Police and Fire Departments; (a) S.W. 8th Street from Beacom Boulevard to S.W.12th Avenue; (b) All streets and avenues intersecting the area listed above. Section 2. The City 'tanager is hereby authorized to execute a support agreement setting forth the conditions under which the City will provide services and a cash assistance grant to be used to pay for festival costs in the total amount of $14,271, Section 4. The City ?tanager is instructed to insure a minimum reserve of 30 police officers on standby to respond to any emergency arising during the festival.
