A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION TRANSFERRING FUNDS
FROM THE DISTRICT 3 SHARE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI'S MIAMI FOR EVERYONE
("MFE") PROGRAM IN A TOTAL AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED FOUR HUNDRED
SIXTY THOUSAND, FOUR HUNDRED NINETY-SEVEN AND 74/100 DOLLARS
($460,497.74) FOR THE DISTRICT 3 2022 HOLIDAY GROCERY DISTRIBUTION
PROGRAM, TO THE DISTRICT 3 ARTS AND ENTERTAINMENT AND
DISCRETIONARY ACCOUNTS FOR EXPENDITURES CONSISTENT WITH THE MFE
PROGRAM.
WHEREAS, on April 13, 2023, pursuant to Resolution No. R-23-0178, the City of Miami
("City") created the Miami For Everyone ("MFE") Program to assist communities facing the long-
term complications resulting from declared emergencies and to address the specific needs of
the most vulnerable residents and businesses, through a strategy of focusing the provision of
support towards priority areas of need that will further stabilize economic conditions within City
Districts; and
WHEREAS, currently, the District 3 Commissioner provides and distributes holiday
groceries, meals, and supplies for the benefit of low-income and underprivileged residents in
District 3 ("Holiday Grocery Program") using District 3 Discretionary Funds; and
WHEREAS, the provision and distribution of the food and groceries as part of the
Holiday Grocery Program is consistent with and furthers the MFE Program within the City; and
WHEREAS, the District 3 Commissioner desires to continue to provide groceries, meals,
and other forms of nutritional assistance and opportunities for District 3 residents through the
Holiday Grocery Program;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are
adopted by reference and incorporated as fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The transfer of MFE Program funds from the District 3 share of the City's
MFE Program in an amount not to exceed Four Hundred Sixty Thousand, Four Hundred Ninety -
Seven and 74/100 Dollars ($460,497.74) to reimburse the District 3 Arts and Entertainment and
Discretionary Accounts for the 2022 Holiday Grocery Program is authorized.'
The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all legal requirements that may be
imposed including, but not limited to, those prescribed by applicable City Charter and City Code
provisions.
Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and
signature of the Mayor.2

Z If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten (10) calendar days
from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective
immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
