HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-81-0260RESOLUTION Not � � bit.`r ri 0 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THL CITY MANAGER TO INCREASE THE ALLOCATION OF SIXTH YEAR COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT FUNDS TO THE SMALL BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY CENTER-- LITTLE HAVANA FROM $50,000 TO $60,000 FOR X4': THE PURPOSE OF' PROVIDING L:XPANDED ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT SERVICES IN THE LITTLE HAVANA qf `4{ TARGET AREA; FURTIiER AUTHORIZING THE CITY r 3� MANAGER TO EXECUTE: AN t'%MENDMENT TO THE E \ I STING AGREEMENT WITH SUCH AGENCY. ti r t z i kr TKO WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 80-518, the City of Miami provided the Small Business Opportunity Center-- Y n: r .�r Little Havana with financial assistance in the amount of $50,000 for the purpose of implementing a Neighborhood Economic Development Program; and r WHEREAS, the Little Havana area needs increased expanded economic development activities in the area; and WHEREAS, I•ictropolitan Dade County has allocated the amount of $60,000 to the Little Havana target area; and WIiEREAS, the City of Miami, through staff recommenda- tion, wishes to match Metropolitan Dade County's efforts in further - developing the economic activities in the Little Havana target area ; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY increase OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. Ah AMENDMENT to a contract dated August 1, '1980 between the City of Miami hereinafter referred to as the "CITY" and gMall Business Opportunity Center --Little Havana, hereinafter referred to as the "CONTRACTOR" dated August 1, 1980. WHEREAS, the parties above had entered into an agreement dated August 1, 1980 for the provision of services for economic development, and WHEREAS, the parties agreed that changes to the contract would be mutually agreed upon and incorporated in writing to tr.e agreement, and WHEREAS, the CITY desires to increase the scope of the services by Ten Thousand Dollars ($10,000.00) and the CON- TRACTOR is willing to provide such additional services, THEREFORE, the agreement between the parties is amended to include an additional payment of Ten Thousand Dollars ($10,000.00) and Section 6.1 will now read as follows: 6.1. The CONTRACTOR agrees to accept as full payment for professional services rendered in a manner satisfactory to the CITY, the actual amount of budgeted, Eligible and CITY approved expenditures and encumbrances .wade by the CONTRACTOR for the purpose of carrying out the services hereunder during the period of this Agreement. It is ex- pressly understood and agreed that in no event, shall the total compensation and/or reimbursement to be paid hereunder exceed the maximum sum of $60,000.
