DEVELOPMENT ON BEHALF OF THE CITY FOR THE
CONTRACT PERIOD WHICH COMMENCED ON JUNE 16,
1979, AND WHICH EXPIRES ON JUNE 15, 1981;
FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH METROPOLITAN
DADE COUNTY FOR THIS PURPOSE.
WHEREAS, Metropolitan Dade County has agreed to provide the City
of Miami with certain administrative services in connection with the im-
plementation of the City's Community Development programs; and
WHEREAS, Metropolitan Dade County's Department of Housing and Urban
Development has been providing these administrative services to the city
on an ongoing basis; and
WHEREAS, $500,000 per year has been determined to be an equitable
amount for the administrative services provided.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. $500,000 of fifth and $500,000 of sixth year Community
Development Block Grant funds are hereby allocated to Metropolitan Dade
County for adminstrative services provided to the city by the Dade County
Department of Housing and Urban Development.
Section 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into an
Agreement with Metropolitan Dade County for the period commencing June lb,
1979 through June 15, 1981, and reimburse the county annually in an amount
not to exceed $500,000 per year for the term of the Agreement.

Community Development ENCLOSURES
It is recommended that a resolution be approved
by the City Commission allocating $500,000 of
fifth and $500,000 of sixth year Community
Development Block Grant funds to Metropolitan
Dade County for the administration of certain
community development activities by the Dade
County Department of Housing and Urban
Development on behalf of the City for the
contract period which commenced on June 16,
1979 and which expires on June 15, 1981;
further authorizing the City Manaqer to
enter into an aqreement with Metropolitan
Dade County for this purpose.
In implementing its Community Development Block Grant program, the City has found
it necessary and desirable to contract with Metropolitan Dade County for adminis-
trative services in connection with the undertaking of certain project activities.
These include family and business relocation services, land acquisition services,
property management, site clearance administration, and land disposition adminis-
tration. In addition, Dade County provides the City of Miami with assistance in
the planning and administration of redevelopment plans necessary to the implementa-
tion of CDBG assisted neighborhood improvement programs, as required.
0n June 15. 1979, the funds allocated for Dade Countv HUD administration expired
under the fourth year Agreement of Understanding. However, the County has continued
to acquire in excess of four million dollars worth of land for redevelopment in the
City, and by the end of the contract will have relocated approximately two hundred
and forty-eight (248) families and individuals as well as fifty-three (53) businesses,
while managing all of the acquired property.
