HomeMy WebLinkAboutO-09266�n r l3RJLCtS AMtRbMENT N6, " To SRbI iA�fCE Nth, `3 '9 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 1 OF ORDINANCE No, 8719i ADOPTED OCTOBER 261 1977, THE SUMMARY GRANT APPROPRIATIONS ORDINANCE, AS AMENDED, BY INCREASING THE APPROPRIATION FOR THE TRUST AND AGENCY FUND ENTITLED: "YORUBA/SPANISH HERITAGE PROGRAM" BY AN ADDITIONAL REVENUE OF $600, PROM $15,000, to $15,600, FOR THE OPERATION OF SAME, SAID ADDITIONAL REV- EWE TO BE PROVIDED BY THE NATIONAL ENDOW- MENT FOR THE ARTS; CONTAINING A REPEALER PROVISION AND A SEVERA81LITY CLAUSE; AND DISPENSING WITH THE REQUIREMENT OF READING SAME ON TWO SEPARATE DAYS BY A VOTE OF NOT LESS THAN FOUR -FIFTHS OF THE MEMBERS OF THE COMMISSION. WHEREAS, the City Commission adopted Ordinance No. 8719 on October 2.6, 1977, establishing resources and appropriations from grant funds anticipated by the City of Miami, Florida, and for cor- responding City matching funds; and WHEREAS, the Leisure Services Department, Cultural Division, has planned a cultural program based on Afro -Latin-American heritage entitled "Yoruba/Spanish Heritage Program" conducted primarily in the month of May, 1981; and WHEREAS, the City Commission adopted Resolution No. 81-53 on January 22, 1981, authorizing the City Manager to accept grants for the "Yoruba/Spanish Heritage Program"; and WHEREAS, the City Commission adopted Ordinance No: 9234 on January 22, 1981, establishing a New Trust and Agency Fund entitled: "Yoruba/Spanish Heritage Program" and appropriating for said fund an amount of $15,000., consisting of $9,000. from the National Endowment for the Arts and $6,000. from the City of Miami's Fiscal Year 1980-81 Matching Funds for Grants Account; and WHEREAS, the National Endowment for the Arts has offered the City of Miami an additional grant award of $600. to supplement their original award of $9,000. for a "Yoruba/Spanish Heritage Program"; and WHEREAS, this year's activities will continue to provide important cultural and educational events to the citizens of the City of Miami and Dade County; NOW, THEREFORE, BE lT ORDAINtb RY THE COMMISSION or THE CITY OP MtAMt# Ft,OkfbA: Section 1, Section i of Ordinance No, 8719, adopted October 26, 19771 as amended, is hereby further amended in the following parti- culars! 1 / "Section 1, The following Trust and Agency Funds are hereby established and resour6es are hereby appropriated as described herein: FUND TITLE- YORUBA/SPANISH HERITAGE PROGRAM RESOURCES: NATIONAL ENDOWMENT FOR THE ARTS $9,999 $9,600, CITY OF MIAMI FY 1980-81 GENERAL FUND- SPECIAL PROGRAMS AND ACCOUNTS, MATCHING FUNDS FOR GRANTS $6,000. APPROPRIATION: YORUBA/SPANISH HERITAGE PROGRAM $a:5,999. $15,600." Section 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances insofar as they are inconsistant or in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed. Section 3. If any section, part of section, paragraph, clause, phrase or word of this ordinance is declared invalid, the remaining provisions of this ordinance shall not be affected. Section 4. The requirement of reading this ordinance on two separate days is hereby dispensed with by a vote of not less than'. four -fifths of the members of the Commission.
