EMPLOYEE OR SERVANT OF AI4Y FIRM THAT HAS APPLIED FOR A LICENSE TO PROVIDE CABLE COMMUNICATION SERVICES FOR THE CITY FROM INITIATING OR MAKING ANY CONTACT WHATEVER WITH ANY ELECTED OR APPOI14TED CITY OFFICIAL OR EMMPLOYEE CONCERNING CITY CABLE COMMUNICATION SERVICES, WITH SAID PROHIBITION BEING SUBJECT TO CERTAIN EXENPTIONS; PROVIDING FOR SAID PROHIBITION TO BE NO LONGER IN EFFECT AFTER THE CITY COMMISSION HAS ISSUED THE LICENSE FOR PROVIDING CABLE COMMUNICATION SERVICES FOR THE CITY. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIA111, FLORIDA: Section 1. Except as otherwise provided herein, no person acting in a representative capacity as principal, agent, employee or servant of any firm that has applied for a license to provide Cable Communication Services for the City shall initiate or make any contact whatever with any elected or appointed City official or employee concerning City Cable Communication Services. This prohibition shall not apply to: (a) written inquiries made by applicants or their representatives to the office of the City Manager concerning; the times and dates of public hearings before the City Commission where City Cable Communication Services are or are likely to be the subject of consideration; (b) written responses filed with the City Clerk by said applicants to the Initial Report of the City's consultant, Telecommunicaiton Management Corp. (TMC); (c) appearances at any Public Hearing before the City Commission which may be scheduled for the purpose of hearing presentations by theapplicants. This prohibition shall no longer be in effect after the City Commission has issued the license for providing, Cable Com- munication Services to the City. PASSED AND ADOPTED this 15 day of MAY 1981. Cit Attorney April 24, 1981 City Cable Communication gervices Ban on Contact by bicense Applicants At the City Commission meeting yesterday, (4/23/81), the City Commission moved to adopt a prohibition on contacts with the City by firms which have submitted license applications for providing City cable communication services. The attached pro- posed Resolution, which properly reflects such prohibition, has been prepared for formal consideration and approval by the Commission at its next scheduled meeting on May 15, 1981. The attached resolution formalizes motion number M-81-348 and is sched- uled to be voted on at the Corp.mission meeting to be held on Friday, May 15, 1981.
