BicenLennLal Part: frum Lhe City of !Lam! for the purpose of cunKructin^
a baseball field, a snrthal.l field, and a soccer field. The development
of these fields within this park would help to alleviate problems which
have confronted both Miami-DadQ's Nev:i orld Center Camps and the dor-nto:,-r1
Miami community at. large. The lack of athletic fields to meet the demand
of the
community
and to support
a high
caliber of
play has been evident
for
several
years.
Miami -Dade has
had to
lease spices
on MiamiSonch
to provide
play areas for its athletic teams. Bicentennial Park would afford the
College the opportunity to operate its progrnm, composed mainly of Miami
residents, Within close proximity of 1Ls cenLral campus, and give the
community, particularly the Latin community, greater opportunity Lo develop
their programs Within UP confines of iilami. The devolllpmcut and subsequent

The construction of z campus in thu do; ntoWn ark`a has bcon a part of the

World Center area. The decision Lo move downtown also included the idea
that the greater downto n area would provide Lhe boundaries for Lhe Now world
Center Campus. At present, this Campus is using classroom andlor office space
in over thirty-eQhL rurim"nity locations in and around r awnt�wn Zimi.
