HomeMy WebLinkAboutO-09269ORDINANCE NO. 9269 AN ORDINANCE AMENbING SUBSECTIONS (A) AND (B) OF SECTION 53-135 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA (1980)s AS AMENDED, GOVERNING ORANGE BOWL PARKING CHARGES; BY CHANGING PARKING RATES FOR CERTAIN ORANGE BOWL PARKING LOTS; BY CHANGING PARKING RATES FOR CERTAIN ORANGE BOWL EVENTS; BY ADDING TO SAID SUBSECTION (B) A NEW PROVISION ESTABLISHING AN ORANGE BOWL PARKING RATE FOR RECREATIONAL VEHICLES FOR ALL EVENTS FOR WHICH ADMISSION IS CHARGED; CONTAINING A REPEALER PROVISION AND A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE, AND DISPENSING WITH THE REQUIREMENT OF READING SAME ON TWO SEPARATE DAYS BY A VOTE OF NOT LESS THAN FOUR -FIFTHS OF THE MEMBERS OF THE COMMISSION. WHEREAS, there is at present in the City Code, established rates for parking at events held at the Orange Bowl Memorial Stadium; and WHEREAS, it is found that in order to be competitive with other major ' stadium facilities, the Orange Bowl parking rates should be adjusted from .time to time; and WHEREAS, the present ordinance setting rates for parking did not provide for recreational vehicle parking at events other than football games; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITI OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. Section 53-135 of the Code of the City of Miami, Florida (1980),as amended, is hereby further amended in the following particulars:l/ "Sec. 53-135. Parking Charges (A) (1) National Football League football events. (a) * ,� (b) Five-ele�ers-�$5-99}� Six dollars ($6.00), including -state sales tax, per recreational vehicle, multiplied by the number of prescheduled exhibition and regular season National Football League professional football events. (2) University of Miami football events. ' (a) (i) (ii) Six dollars ($6.00)0 including state sales tax, per recreational vehicle, multiplied by the number of prescheduled University of Miami football events. (2) (3) For all other events, ether-tY�at�-feetballthe charge per passenger car, per event, including state sales tax, on all city - owned Orange Bowl parking lots is dependent upon the average cost of admission to the event, as follows: Average Admission Cost Charge $6:99-er-mere $12.01 or more 0-.09 $4.00 5-98-to-5799 8.01 to 12.00 -2-69 3.00 4799-to-4799 5.01 to 8.00 2.00 37ee-to-9-99 2799-to-2799 2.01 to 5.00 1.00 Less than $2vee $2.01 .50 (4) The charge per bus is fide-ele��ars-{$5:ee}7, six dollars ($6.00), including state sales tax, for parking on all city -owned Orange Bowl parking lots at all events for which admission is charged. (5) The charge per recreational vehicle is six dollars ($6 00), including state sales tax, for parking on a specially des i nated city -owned Orange Bowl parking lot at all events for which admission is charged. Section 2. All ordinances, or parts of ordinances, in conflict herewith, insofar as they are in conflict, are hereby repealed, Section S. If any section, part of section paragraph, clause, phrase or word of this ordinance is declared invalid, the remaining provisions of this ordinance shall not be affected, W2R ----- ------ Section 4. The requirement of reading this ordinance on two separate days is hereby dispensed with by a vote of not less than four -fifths of the members of the Commission.
