HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-23-0295City of Miami Resolution R-23-0295 alldl 11 li.Rl I + Legislation File Number: 14106 City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.miamigov.com Final Action Date: 7/13/2023 A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S), AUTHORIZING THE TRANSFER OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT ("CDBG") IN THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT CATEGORY FROM FISCAL YEAR ("FY") 2021-2022 IN THE AMOUNT $246,000.00 TO THE DEPARTMENT OF RESILIENCE AND PUBLIC WORKS FOR STREET IMPROVEMENTS IN DISTRICT 5, AS DESCRIBED IN EXHIBIT "A," ATTACHED AND INCORPORATED; FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE AND EXECUTE ANY AND ALL NECESSARY DOCUMENTS, INCLUDING ANY AMENDMENTS AND MODIFICATIONS, ALL IN A FORM ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITY ATTORNEY, FOR SAID PURPOSE. WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. R-21-0424 adopted on October 14, 2021, the City Commission approved the reallocation of Community Development Block Grant ("CDGB") in the economic development category funds for Fiscal Year (TY") 2021-2022 in the total amount of $2,070,707.99, which included an amount of $246,000.00 to the Department of Housing and Community Development for Commercial Rehabilitation to be allocated at a later date; and WHEREAS, there is a need to allocate these funds to the Department of Resilience and Public Works to be utilized for street improvements in District 5; and WHEREAS, the City's Administration recommends the transfer of CDBG economic development funds from FY 2021-2022 in the amount of $246,000.00 to the Department of Resilience and Public Works to be utilized for street improvements in District 5; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The transfer of CDBG economic development funds from FY 2021-2022 in the amount of $246,000.00 to the Department of Resilience and Public Works to be utilized for street improvements in District 5; as described in Exhibit "A," attached and incorporated, is authorized.' Section 3. The City Manager is authorized' to negotiate and execute any and all documents, including amendment(s) and modification(s), in a form acceptable to the City Attorney, for said purpose. ' The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all legal requirements that may be imposed, including but not limited to, those prescribed by applicable City Charter and City Code provisions.
