HomeMy WebLinkAboutO-09288Amendment No. to Ordinance No, 8119 ORDINANCE NO, AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 1 OF Him ORDINANCE NO. 8719 ADOPTED OCTOBER 26 1977, THE SUMMARY GRANT APPROPRIATIONS _- ORDINANCE, AS AMENDED; BY ESTABLISHING A NEW TRUST AND AGENCY FUND ENTITLED: 20- 111981 YOUTH CONSERVATION CORPS PROGRAM, AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS FOR THE PURPOSE OF SAME IN THE AMOUNT OF $29, 665; CON- TAINING A REPEALER PROVISION AND A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE, �— WHEREAS, the City Commission adopted Ordinance No. 8719 on October 26, 1977, establishing resources and appropriations for grant funds anticipated by the City of Miami, Florida, and for corresponding City matching funds; and WHEREAS, the City of Miami submitted a grant application to the State of Florida Department of Education on December 15 1980 requesting $29, 665 for a Youth Conservation Corps Program grant; and WHEREAS, Resolution No. 81-525 adopted Tune 26, 1981 authorized the City Manager to accept a grant award from the State of Florida Department of Education in the amount of $29, 665 to implement environmental enhancement work at Virginia Key; and WHEREAS, a grant award of $29, 665 has been offered to the City of Miami to employ '30 youths for a period of 8 weeks to perform environmental enhancement work at Virginia Key; and WHEREAS, a required in -kind matching share of $14, 762 has been identified by the Parks Department through the use of existing staff and materials from the Parks Department; NOW, THEREFORE, 13E IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMISSIfJN OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1, Section I of Ordinance No. 871 q, adopted October 26, 1977) 1/ as amended, is hereby further an -fended in the hollowing particulars FUND TITLE: RESOURCES: APPROPRIATION: "Section 1, The Vollowing Trust and Agency Hind is hereby established and resources are hereby appropriated as described Herein: 9.81 Youth Conservation Corps Program State of Florida, lbepartment. of Education $29, 665 'I Virginia Key Environmental Enhancement Project $29, 665 Section 2, All ordinances or parts of ordinances insofar as they are inconsistent or in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed. The purpose of this grant is to provide summer jobs for 30 youths for a period of 8 weeks to perform environmental enhancement work at Virginia Key. The City's share of $14, 762 for this project has been identified by the Parks Department through the use of in -kind services consisting of existing staff and materials from the Parks Department.
