After the contractor, Shafer and Miller, Inc., completed the ADMINISTRATION BUILDING (2ND BIDDING), and it was occupied by City forces, the Building Department reached a decision that in -line fuses are required in all fluo- rescent light fixtures within the building. We ordered the electrical subcontractor to install the fuses, and he did so. J Since that time, our consultants have notified us that fixtures that did not have in -line fuses were deliberately specified on second bidding to save money, and that the electrical subcontractor should be compensated for in- think is — stalling the fuses. We have negotiated what we _ a fair compensation with him ($1,950), and recommend that payment be made to the prime contractor, Shafer and Miller, Inc., who has agreed to pass it on to the elec- trical subcontractor. !!i Money to cover this additional cost is available from funds already allocated to the project. t.
