On June 25, 1981, the City Commission through Motion 81-569 accepted staff recommendations concerning methods for City participation in the financing and development of low and moderate income rental housing as outlined in the attached staff report. In part, the report recommended acquisition of suitable housing development sites by the City for subsequent disposition to private sector developers subject to applicable real property disposition procedures. Adoption by the City Commission of the attached resolution will enable staff to test the economic feasibility of acquisition of certain sites for rental housing reuse. Should any of the properties to be appraised under the authority of this resolution prove feasible for such reuse, City Commission authorization will be requested to acquire them with general obligation housing bond proceeds subject to appropriate legal requirements. /so 1" 81 -663
