AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS I AND 5 OF ORDINANCE
NO. 9179, ADOPTED OCTOBER 3, 1980, THE ANNUAL
APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE FOR THE FISCAL YEAR ENDING
SEPTEMBER 30, 1981, AS AMENDED, BY INCREASING THE
APPROPRIATION FOR THE ENTERPRISE FUNDS IN THE FOL=
LOWING AMOUNTS: MELREESE GOLF COURSE $30,000 AND
MIAMI SPRINGS GOLF COURSE $22,500, BY INCREASING
ANTICIPATED REVENUES IN THE SAME AMOUNT FROM FY 80
RETAINED EARNINGS; FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING
IRRIGATION FOR MELREESE AND A CASH REGISTER AND
IRRIGATION FUNDS TO COVER A SHORTFALL OF BUDGETED
FUNDS FOR ACCEPTANCE OF A BID FOR PUMPING SYSTEM;
CONTAINING A REPEALER PROVISION AND A SEVERABILITY
CLAUSE; AND DISPENSING WITH THE REQUIREMENT OF
READING SAME ON TWO SEPARATE DAYS BY A VOTE OF
NOT LESS THAN FOUR -FIFTHS OF THE MEMBERS OF THE
COMMISSION.
WHEREAS, the City Commission adopted Ordinance No. 9179 on
October 3, 1980, establishing revenues and appropriations for the
City of Miami, Florida, for the fiscal year ending September 30,
1980, and
WHEREAS, various enterprise fund improvements are nearing
completion and require additional funding, including funds to cover
the cost of a higher bid in excess of budget monies; and
WHEREAS, the required funding $30,000 for Melreese, and
$22,500 for Miami Springs, is available from the FY'180 Retained
Earnings for each of the respective accounts, and can be appropriated
into the Enterprise Funds.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. Sections 1 and 5 of Ordinance 9179,Adopted on
October 3, 1980, the Annual Appropriation Ordinance of -the Fiscal
Year ending September 30, 1981, as amended, are hereby further
amended in the following particulars:
"Section 1. The following appropriations are made
for the municipal operations of the City of Miami,
Florida, for the fiscal year 1980-81, including
the payment of principal and interest on all General
Obligation Bonds:

Section 5. The above appropriations are based

Section 2. The herein appropriation of $30,000 into the
Enterprise Funds, Melreese Golf Course, from FY '80 Retained Earnings
is for the purpose of providing irrigation.
Section 3. The herein appropriation of$22,500 into the
Enterprise Funds, Miami Springs Golf Course, from FY '80 Retained
Earnings is for the following purposes: $15,000 to cover the overcost
of a bid for an irrigation electrical system and pump, $5,000 for
irrigation materials and $2,500 for a new cash register.
Section 4. All ordinances or parts of ordinances insofar as
they are inconsistent or in conflict with the provisions of this
ordinance are hereby repealed.

Section 5, If any section, part Of section, paragraph, clause,
phrase, or word of this ordinance is declared invalid, the remaining
provisions of this ordinance shall not be affected.
Section 6, The requirement of reading this ordinance on two
separate days is hereby dispensed with by a vote of not less than
four -fifths of the members of the Commission,

Appropriation of $52�500
for City Golf Courses
It is recommended that an appropriation
be made for the Enterprise Funds, Melreese
Golf Course, in the amount of $30,000 to
provide irrigation materials, and Miami
Springs Golf Course, in the amount of
$22,500 to provide funds to cover a recent
bid for irrigation and pumping system that
exceeded budgeted funds and for the pur-
chase of a new cash register and irrigation
materials. Funds are available from FY '80
Retained Earnings.
The Department of Leisure Services is requesting an
of funds from the FY '80 Retained Earnings to cover
appropriation

Melreese Golf Course

cover the cost of a recent bid

In that these expenditures are vital to maintain the golf courses
in a manner expected of the golf public, it is recommended that
the appropriation of funds be approved as the attached ordinance.
