recommend the adoption of a resolution
authorizing an increase in the scope of
-'
a-
the contract in an amount not to exceed
c`%i
$17,000, for the CULMER COMMUNITY
DEVELOPMENT PAVING PROJECT - PHASE IV,
allocating the additional $17,000 from
the Federal Community Development Block
Grant Fund.
The project was designed incorporating improvements to be made by
Dade County Department of Housing and Urban Development as indicated
by their tentative plat, (WASHINGTON HEIGHTS VILLAS). The improve-
ments they were to make included the construction of a U-shaped
service street off of 3rd Avenue south of 20 Street and the construc-
tion of sanitary sewers within the service street to serve the pro-
posed new buildings fronting on the service street. After design
was completed and we had received bids on the project, Dade County
Department of Housing and Urban Development notified us of their
intention to drop the replatting. Therefore, it was necessary to
add sanitary sewers along N. W. 3 Avenue to replace those that would
have been constructed as part of the replatting. Additional paving
work was also required. We estimate that the cost of the additional
work will amount to $17,000. In order to preserve all of the
$15,000 cash allowance. we nroDose an increase in contract to cover
the entire $17,000 estimated additional cost. We have received
verification from the Department of Community Development that the
funds for the increase are available from the Federal Community
Development Block Grant Fund, and that they approve of the increase.
