HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-81-0868WHEREAS, ARNOLD & PORTER has previously been retained by the City as Special Counsel for matters dealing with the negotiation and award of a cable television license in the City of Miami; and WHEREAS, a limitation was placed on the amount of serer vices not to exceed $100,000 without further authorization ' from the City Commission; and WHEREAS, the complexities of this project and extension t of negotiations require the City to have additional services of the law firm of ARNOLD & PORTER through the time of the award of a cable television license; and `i WHEREAS, the City Commission has authorized two cable television firms to continue in negotiations and will soon proceed with negotiations for the award of cable television licenses; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The City Attorney is hereby authorized to continue the employment of the law firm of ARNOLD & PORTER, Washington, D.C., as special counsel on matters dealing with cable television and an additional amount not to exceed $100,000 is hereby authorized as payment for the services of the above -named firm. Section 2. No expenditure of funds in excess of the herein additional amount shall be approved unless expressly authorized by the City Commission.
