OF THE CITY'S ISSUANCE OF $21,000,000 PRINCIPAL AMOUNT OF BONDS THEREUNDER; AND AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE PROPER CITY OFFICERS TO PERFORM ANY AND ALL INCIDENTAL DUTIES AND TO TAKE APPROPRIATE PROCEEDINGS IN CONNECTION WITH THE ISSUANCE OF SAID BONDS AS RE- QUIRED BY LAW. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The returns of the bond election held on November 3, 1981, having been received from the election officials of each of the voting precincts within The City of Miami, Florida (hereinafter sometimes called the "City") and the Commission of the City (herein sometimes called the "Commission") having duly canvassed such returns hereby declares: (a) said election was duly called and properly held and notice thereof was duly given in accordance with law and Ordinance No. 9295 passed and adopted July 23, 1981, and entitled: AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE HOLDING OF A BOND ELECTION IN THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA, ON NOVEMBER 31 1981, WITH RES- PECT TO THE ISSUANCE OF $21,000,000 FIRE FIGHTING, FIRE PREVENTION AND RESCUE FACILITIES BONDS; PROVIDING THAT THIS ORDINANCE SHALL GO INTO EFFECT IMMEDI- ATELY UPON ITS PASSAGE; AND DISPENSING WITH THE READING OF THIS ORDINANCE ON TWO SEPARATE DAYS BY A VOTE OF NOT LESS THAN FOUR -FIFTHS OF THE COMMISSION; CITY COMMISSION MEETING OF NOV 1 1 1981 81-92 RESOUMN NO ............ «........ It is hereby found and determined (a) that 24,437 votes were cast by qualified electors in favor of the issuance of said bonds and (b) that 12,995 votes were cast by qualified electors against the issuance of said bonds. Section 3. The Commission hereby declares and certifies that the issuance of said $21,000,000 Fire Fighting, Fire Prevention and Rescue Facilities Bonds of The City of Miami, Florida, was approved by the qualified electors of the City at said bond election; that the total number of ballots cast at said bond election in 87 voting precincts was 37,432; and that a majority of the votes cast in said bond election were in favor of the issuance of said bonds. Section 4. The proper officers of the City are hereby authorized and directed to perform any and all incidental duties and to take appropriate proceedings in connection herewith as required by law.
