HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-81-1001RESOLUTION NO.� 81 - 10 U 1 A RESOLUTION GRANTING PERMISSION TO CONSTRUCT AND OPERATE JACKSON MEMORIAL HOSPITAL RELATED FACILITIES, PER ORDINANCE 6871, ARTICLE XXI-2, SECTION 3(1,2,), AS PER PLANS PREPARED BY FERGUSON, GLASGOW AND SCHUSTER, REVISED AUGUST 5, 1981, ON PROPERTY GENERALLY BOUNDED BY APPROXIMATELY N. W. LOTH AVENUE, N. W. 17th STREET, N. W. 9TH AVENUE, N. W. 18TH STREET, N. W. 8TH AVENUE AND THE WEST DUNBAR SCHOOL SITE (75-87), BEING TENTATIVE PLAT #1103 - "HIGHLAND PARK DRIVE SECTION ONE", ZONED R-4 (MEDIUM DENSITY MUTLTIPLE) AND C-1 (LOCAL COMMERCIAL), PROPOSED TO BE RE- ZONED TO GU (GOVER1*1ENTAL USE). FINDING THAT THE ESTABLISHMENT OF THIS USE IS: (a) COM- PATIBLE WITH FUTURE DEVELOPMENT: (b) IN CONFORMITY WITH PLANS FOR THE AREA; (c) READILY ACCESIBLE; (d) OF LITTLE ADVERSE IMPACT ON THE SURROUNDING AREA; (e) 114 SCALE WITH SURROUNDING INSTITUTIONS; (f) FOR THEOF HOSPITALNTIAL COMPLEX; AND (g) OFEES COMPLEIENTARYANDSDESIGHE SUBJECT TO FINAL LANDSCAPE PLAN APPROVAL BY THE PLANNING DEPARTMENT. WHEREAS, the Miami Planning Advisory Board at its meeting of September 16, 1981, Item #A(b), following an advertised hearing, adopted Resolution No. PAB 53-81 by a 7 to 0 vote RECOM11ENDING APPROVAL be granted for permission to construct and operate Jackson Memorial Hospital related facilities, as hereinafter set forth; and WHEREAS, the City Commission deems it advisable and in the best interest of the general welfare of the City of Miami and its inhabitants to grant the approval, as hereinafter set forth; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The request, as per Ordinance No. 6871, Article XXI-2, Section 3(1,2), to construct and operate Jackson Memorial Hospital related facilities, as per plans prepared by Ferguson, Glasgow and Schuster, revised August 5, 1981, on property generally bounded by approximately N. W. loth Avenue, N. W. 17th Street, N. W. 9th Avenue, N. W. 18th Street, N. W. 8th Avenue and the West Dunbar School Site (75-87), being Tentative Plat #1103 - "HIGHLAND PARK DRIVE SECTION ONE:, zoned R-4 (Medium Density Multiple) and C-1 CITY COMMISSION MEETING OF NOV 1 91981 R MUMON W? $1 1 t 01 (Local Commercial) proposed to be rezoned to GU (Governmental Use). Finding thatthe establishment of this use is: (a) compatible with future development; (b) In conformity with plans for the area; (c) Readily accessible; (d) Of little adverse impact on the surrounding area; (e) In scale with surrounding institutions; (f) Essential for the employees and patrons of the hospital =c:pLe.,; and (g) Of complementary design, subject to final land- scape plan approval by the Planning Department, be and the same is hereby granted.
