Home My WebLink AboutR-81-1031i RESOLUTION NO A RESOLUTION GRANTING A RIGHT AND A PERMIT AND GIVING AUTHORITY TO METROPOLITAN DARE COUNTY TO CONSTRUCT AND MAINTAIN ERIDGE- TYPE STRUCTURES AND FOUNDATIONS TO SUPPORT '`- AERIAL GUIDEWAYS FOR THE RAPID TRANSIT SYSTEM % STAGE I OVER AND ABOVE THE PUBLIC STREETS OF THE CITY OF MIAMI AT ' r TWENTY TWO (22) LOCATIONS AS PER EXHIBIT "A" HEREWITH ATTACHED AND MADE A PART THEREOF. SUBJECT TO THE REQUH00M OF THE DIRECMR OF PUBLIC WORKS. WHEREAS, Metropolitan Dade County Transportation Administration is constructing a Rapid Transit System as a publix facility to provide public transportation to the residents of the Dade County Area: and WHEREAS, it becomes necessary to incorporate bridge -type structures and appurtenances above and across certain public rights of way as a part of the transportation system; and ; WHEREAS, foundations and columns will be necessary to support the aerial guideway across the public streets; and WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the public that the City give the County permission to construct the aforementioned aerial guideway system for Rapid Transit above and across the public streets; NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. That the right and permits are hereby granted and authority is hereby given to Dade County for the construction of an aerial guideway system and appurtenances over, above and across City of Miami public streets as a link in the overall plan of the Rapid Transit Stage I to provide public transportation to to the residents of Dade County. Section 2. The twenty two (22) locations of the crossings of public streets designated as EXHIBIT "A" is herewith attached and made a part hereof. Section S. That all of the construction and restoration within the public rights -of -way shall be subject to the requirements of the Director of Public Tbrks. Boatman and Miller of this office. Discussion concerned the request of September 3, 1981, submitted to your office for permanent easements at twenty-eight locations. Subsequent discussion of the rights to be transferred by the City ended with an agreement to divide the original request into Exhibit "A" and "B". Exhibit *"A" which is attached contains only parcels which constitute aerial crossing of city streets which consists of twenty- two locations. As per our agreement with Mr. Percy these parcels will be transferred to the County via a blanket City Commission Resolution. Exhibit "B" pertaining to those locations involving substantial surface use of City owned right of way is under preparation and will be discussed with Messrs. Campbell and Percy prior to submission for City approval. Your cooperation in the expeditious conveyance of these parcels will be greatly appreciated.
