A RESOLUTION RESCINDING RESOLUTION
NO, 81`618 WHICH AUTHORIZED THE CITY
MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT WITH METRO
ELECTRIC SERVICES INC. IN THE AMOUNT OF
$30s000 FOR MIAMI SPRINGS GOLF COURSE
IRRIGATION SYSTEM; AND FURTHER AUTHOR-
IZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A
CONTRACT WITH MET CONSTRUCTIONS INC. IN
THE AMOUNT OF $30,887 FOR THE SAME
PROJECT; AND TO EXPROPRIATE THE ADDI-
TIONAL COST OF $887 FROM BID SECURITY
POSTED BY METRO ELECTRIC SERVICEi INC.;
WITH MONIES THEREFOR ALLOCATED FROM THE
"MIAMI SPRINGS GOLF COURSE ENTERPRISE FUND"
IN THE AMOUNT OF $30, 000 TO PARTIALLY COVER
THE CONTRACT COST; ALLOCATING FROM THE
SAID FUND THE AMOUNT OF $39300 TO COVER
THE COST OF PROJECT EXPENSE; ALLOCATING
FROM SAID FUND THE AMOUNT OF $600 TO COVER
THE COST OF SUCH ITEMS AS ADVERTISING,
TESTING LABORATORIES, AND POSTAGE; ALLO-
CATING FROM SAID FUND THE AMOUNT OF
$13240 TO COVER THE INDIRECT COST
WHEREAS, sealed bids were received June 18, 1981
for MIAMI SPRINGS GOLF COURSE - IRRIGATION SYSTEM; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager was authorized by
Resolution No. 81-618 to execute a contract with Metro
Electric Service, Inc., the lowest responsible bidder,
in the amount of $30,000; and
WHEREAS, Metro Electric Service, Inc. was
not able to provide the City with the required performance
bond; and
WHEREAS, tI.e second lowest responsible bidder
is MET Construction, Inc.; and
WHEREAS, MET Construction, Inc. has provided
written verification that they will honor their bid of
June 18, 1981 in the amount of $30,887; and
WHEREAS, monies for the additional cost of $887
is available from bid security posted by Metro Electric
Service, Inc.;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:

Section 1. Resolution No, 81-618 adopted July 9j
1981) which authorized the City Manager to execute a
contract with Metro Electric Service, Inc. in the proposed
amount of $30000 for the MIAMI SPRINGS GOLF COURSE --
IRRIGATION SYSTEM, is hereby rescinded.
Section 2. The June 18, 1981 bid of MET Con-
struction, Inc. in the proposed amount of $30,887, for
the same project entitled MIAMI SPRINGS GOLF COURSE -
IRRIGATION SYSTEM, for the base bid of the proposal, is
hereby accepted at the price stated therein.
Section 3. The City Manager is authorized to
expropriate $887 from the bid security posted by Metro
Electric Service, Inc. to cover the additional cost over
and above the $30000.
Section b. The amount of $30,000 is hereby
allocated from the account entitled "Miami Springs Golf
Course Enterprise Fund" to partially cover the cost of
said contract.
Section 5. The additional amount of $3,300 is
hereby allocated from the aforesaid fund to cover the
cost of project expense.
Section 6. The additional amount of $600 is
hereby allocated from the aforesaid fund to cover the
cost of such incidental items as advertising, testing
laboratories, and postage.
Section 7. The additional amount of $1,240 is
hereby allocated from the aforesaid fund to cover the
indirect cost.
Section 8. The City Manager is hereby authorized
to enter into a contract on behalf of The City of Miami
with MET Construction, Inc. for MIAMI SPRINGS GOLF COURSE -
IRRIGATION SYSTEM, base bid of the proposal.

The Department of Public Works recommends
adoption of a resolution rescinding Resolu-
tion No. 81-618 which accepted the bid
received June 18, 1981 of Metro Electric
Service, Inc. in the amount of $30,000 for
MIAMI SPRINGS GOLF COURSE - IRRIGATION
SYSTEM; and authorizing the City Manager
to enter into a contract on behalf of the
City of Miami with MET Construction, Inc.,
the second lowest responsible bidder, in
the amount of $30,887 for the same project.
At the Commission meeting of July 9, 1981, a contract was
awarded to Metro Electric Service, Inc. in the amount of
$30,000 for MIAMI SPRINGS GOLF COURSE - IRRIGATION SYSTEM.
However, Metro Electric Service, Inc. was not able to
provide the City with the required performance bond.
The second lowest responsible bidder, MET Construction,
Inc., has provided written verification that they will
honor their bid of June 18, 1981 in the amount of $30,887.
Monies for the additional cost of $887 is available from
bid security posted by Metro Electric Service, Inc.
