Contract with Evensen-Dodge, Inc.
Resolution for increase in
contract amount.

It is recommended that the City Commission
approve the attached resolution authorizing
r- an increase in the contract in an amount not
`' to exceed $30,000 between the City of Miami
v and Evensen-Dodge, Inc., for providing
o housing financial advisory services in connec-
tion with the production of housing for low
-' C and moderate income families.
In March, 1976 the City of Miami's voters passed a $25,000,000 General
Obligation Housing Bond Issue to be used for financing housing for low
and moderate income renter families.
On January 22, 1981 the City Commission by Resolution No. 81-55
authorized the City Manager to enter into an agreement wit the firm
of Evensen-Dodge, Inc., in order to provide housing financial advisory
services to the City in connection with the production of housing for
low and moderate income families.
On May 1, 1981 the City entered into contract for $30,000 with
Evensen-Dodge, Inc., for the above mentioned services. The firm assisted
City staff in developing methods by which the City through its local
bond issue could participate in the financing and development of low and
moderate rental housing.
The City Commission has approved the Affordable Rental Housing Develop-
ment Program which will facilitate construction of approximately 1,000
i privately developed rental dwelling units for occupancy by families and
individuals of low and moderate income.
There exists a need for additional advisory services which exceed those
outlined in the contract. In order to implement the Affordable Rental
Housing Development Program, it is requested that an amount not to exceed
$30,000 be authorized for this purpose. Funds for the proposed increase
in contract will be provided through the City's General Obligation
Housing Bond Fund.
City Commission approval of this item is recommended.
