The Departmentsof Public Works and Community
Development recommend the adoption of a
resolution authorizing an increase in con-
tract amount not to exceed $7,000 for the
RIVERSIDE PARK - COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
PROJECT (4TH BIDDING).
The existing south one-half of S. W. 3 Street, between 7
and 8 Avenues, which borders Riverside Park on the north,
was found to be badly deteriorated and, if left so, would
detract from the appearance of the renovated park. We
have determined that by replacing the south curb and
gutter and by doing some street rebuilding, we can obtain
a much improved project. Some of the street rebuilding
will be done by City forces, but we estimate that approx-
imately $7,000 worth of work must be done by the contractor
on the project.
We havecontacted the Community Development Department and
received concurrence in doing the extra work and their
confirmation that $7,000 is available from the "7th Year
Community Development Block Grant Funds" to cover the
necessary increase in contract amount required.
