RESOLUTION NO. 8 2` 1 4 1
A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE COMPLETED
EXTRA WORK BY SANMAR GENERAL CONTRACTORS,
INC. ON THE FIRE STATION NO. 4 - BID "B"
(2ND BIDDING); AND AUTHORIZING A FINAL
PAYMENT OF $17,507.61
WHEREAS, there exists a contract dated Septem-
ber 18, 1979 between the City of Miami and Sarimar General
Contractors, Inc. in the amount of $867,000.00 for the
construction of the FIRE STATIO14 NO. 4 - BID "B" (2ND
BIDDING) project; and
WHEREAS, the contractor has completed all of
the work required by the contract; and
WHEREAS, he has completed certain items of
extra work requested by the Fire Department and authorized
by Resolution No. 81-58 dated January 22, 1981; and
WHEREAS, the consultants on the project, Bouterse,
Perez, Fabregas, have certified that all the work has been
completed in accordance with the plans and specifications;
and
WHEREAS, Sanmar General Contractors, Inc. has
furnished the required documents certifying that all bills
for labor and materials have been paid in full in connection
with the aforesaid contract; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Department of
Public Works recommend that the completed extra work be
accepted and final payment made to the contractor;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The extra work authorized by Reso-
lution No. 81-58 dated January 22, 1981, performed by
Sanmar General Contractors, Inc. for the FIRE STATION NO. 4 -

BID "B" (2ND BIDDING) project,is hereby accepted.
Section 2. The proper officials of the City
of Miami are hereby authorized to pay $17,507.61 to
Sanmar General Contractors, Inc. as full and final payment
for all work performed and all materials furnished in
connection with the FIRE STATION 140. 4 - BID "B" (2ND
BIDDING).

The Denartment of Public Works recommends
the adoption of the resolution accepting
extra work by Sanmar General Contractors,
Inc. on FIRE STATION NO. 4 - BID "B"
(214D BIDDIivG); and authorizing a final
payment of '17,507.61.
After the contractor on the project, Sanmar General Con-
tractors, Inc., completed all of the work shown on the
plans and in the specifications, and after a resolution
authorizinr, a final payment was requested, the Fire Depart -
merit requested that additional work not covered by the
contract be done. The contractor agreed to hold his contract
open and do the work, providing that the City would accept
all of the work he had ccmpleted to that date and reduce the
retaina-e to one percent. Resolution INo. 81-58 accomplished
;•;hat the contractor requested.
The contractor has not,! comrictled the requested extra aork: at
a total additional cost of $8,92).89. Funds to cover the
additional work: are available from the cash allo,,fance.
It is now in order for the Commission to accept the extra
work: and authorize final payment, after all conditions are
met.
