A RESOLUTION RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO. 82-45
PASSED JANUARY 14, 1982, WHICH CONTAINED IN-
CORRECT LANGUA3E AND INCORRECT ALLOCATION OF
FUNDS PERTAINING TO THE ACCEPTANCE OF THE BID
OF MET CONSTRUCTION CO.,, INC. FOR AFRICAN SQUARE
RECREATION BUILDING - MODIFICATIONS, THE ALLOCA-
TION OF FUNDS FOR THE PROJECT, AND THE AUTHORIZA-
TION OF THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT
WITS' MET CONSTRUCTION, INC.
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 82-45 incorrectly accepted
the bid of MET Construction , Inc. in the amount of
$147,661.00 for the base bid of the proposal instead of for
the base bid plus Additive Item "A"; and
WHEREAS, it incorrectly allocated "Federal Community
Development Block Grant" funds to cover the entire cost of the
project instead of correctly allocating funds from "Special
Programs and Accounts" fund to cover part of the cost of the
project; and
WHEREAS, it allocated $20,673.00 to cover project
expense which will not be required; and
WHEREAS, the Public Works Department will request a
sequential resolution to correctly accept the bid, allocate
funds, and authorize the City Manager to execute a contract
with MET Construction, Inc.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. Resolution No. 82-45, passed January 14.
1982 by the City Commission, which contained incorrect language
and incorrect allocation of funds pertaining to the acceptance
of the bid of MET Construction, Inc. for African Square
Recreation Building - Modifications, the allocation of funds

The Department of Public Wor'cs and the Office
of Community Development recommend the adoption
of a resolution rescinding Resolution No. 82-45,
which accepted the bid, allocated funds, and
authorized the City (,Tanager to execute a
contract with MET Construction Co., Inc., for
the construction of AFRICAN SQUARE RECREATION
BUILDING - 140DIFICATIONS .
The City Commission passed Resolution No. 82-45 on January 14,
1982 acceptin„ the bid of $147,661 by MET Construction Co., Inc.,
for the base bid of the proposal for the AFRICAN SQUARE RECREATION
BUILDING - PfODIFICATIOiJU project. The bid in that amount in fact
was for the base bid and additive item A of the proposal. Further,
the resolution indicated that all of the funds from the project
t•rould come from Federal Community Development Bloc1.; Grant funds.
Funds for the project ;•rill come from both Federal Community Develop-
ment Bloc'': Grant funds and Special Proj_.rams and Accour:t,ti, funds .
The resolution also allocated 20,673.00 for pro ect ex—enses.
