HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-82-0088RESOLUTION NO. 8 2 + 8 8 RESOLUTION APPROVING THE OFFICIAL STATEMENT FOR THE BONDS OF THE CITY OF' MIAMI, FLORIDA, DATED MARCH 1, 1982, AND RATIFYING THE PRELIMINARY OFFICIAL STATEMENT, DATED FEBRUARY 1, 1982, AND ITS DISTRIBUTION BY THE DIRECTOR OF FINANCE. WHEREAS, the Director of Finance of The City of Miami (the "City"), has submitted to the Commission of The City of Miami (the "Commission"), and, pursuant to Resolution No. R2-77, distributed the Preliminary Official Statement, dated February 1, 1982, containing data and information respecting the City, Dade County and Parking Revenue Bonds (additionally secured by Non -Ad Valorem Taxes), Series 1981, of the City in the principal amount of $10,400,000, to be dated March 1, 1982. WHEREAS, the Commission examined, considered and, by said resolution, approved said Preliminary Official Statement; and WHEREAS, the Director of Finance expects to deliver to the purchasers of said bonds the final Official Statement dated March 1, 1982, pertaining to said bonds which shall be substantially in the form of said Preliminary Official Statement, as approved by the Commission of the City, with such changes, insertions and amendments of a minor nature that are satisfactory to the Mayor; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. Said Preliminary Official Statement, dated February 1, 1982, as approved by the Commission and as distributed to the prospective purchasers of the bonds by the Director of Finance pursuant to Resolution No. R9_77 , is hereby ratified, confirmed and approved in the form presented to the Commission -1- CITY COMMISSION MEETING OF F E B 1 1 1982 82-88 RESOLUTIONNO...................... REMARKS: .......... i with such minor changes, insertions and omissions as the Mayor of the City shall approve (said Preliminary Official Statement, as so revised, is herein called the "Official Statement"). Section 2. The Mayor of the City is hereby authorized and directed to sign said Official Statement for and on behalf of the City and the signature of the Mayor on such Official State- ment shall be conclusive evidence of his approval, as herein authorized, of any such changes, insertions and omissions in said Official Statement. Section 3. The distribution of the Preliminary Official Statement by the Director of Finance to the prospective purchasers of the bonds is hereby ratified, confirmed and approved, and the purchasers of said bonds are hereby authorized to use the Official Statement in connection with the offering and sale of said bonds. MEMORANDUM DATE January 28, 1982 SUB:ECr Agenda Item REFERENCES ENCLOSURES FILE: It is recommended that the attached resolutions in reference to the sale of $10,400,000 Parking Revenue Bonds (Additionally secured by Non -Ad Valorem Revenues), Series 1981, be adopted by the City Commission. The attached resolutions will allow the City to accept bids and award sale of the $10,400,000Park ino Revenue Bonds approved for sale by the City Commission on January 28, 1982.. These resolutions must be adopted at the meeting of February 11, 1982, in the following order and at the suggested times: 11:00 a.m. Resolution to receive, open, read and refer to the City Manager for tabulation and report bids. 11:00 a.m. Resolution approving the Official Statement for the bonds. 11:55 a.m. Resolution awarding the bonds to the lowest bidder.
