HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-82-019312 RESOLUTION NO. 82-193 A RESOLUTION WAIVING GREEN FEES FOR THE GREATER MIAMI WOMEN'S GOLF ASSOCIATION ON MAY 17, 1982, AT THE CITY OF MIAMI COUNTRY CLUB IN MIAMI SPRINGS, AND JUNE 22, 1982, AT THE MELREESE GOLF COURSE AND REQUIRING USE OF AN ELECTRIC CART BY EACH GOLFER IN SAID TOURNAMENT. WHEREAS, the City of Miami has granted free green fees at the City of Miami Country Club in Miami Springs and the Melreese Golf Course to the Greater Miami Women's Golf Association in past years; and WHEREAS, the Greater Miami Women's Golf Association is continuing the practice of purchasing all awards through the Pro Shop and supporting the City Golf Courses; and WHEREAS, the Department of Leisure Services recommends that the green fees for these two play dates be waived and the use of an electric cart be required; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. Green fees for the Greater Miami Women's Golf Association on May 17, 1982, at the City of Miami Country Club in Miami Springs, and on June 22, 1982, at Melreese Golf Course, are hereby waived and each player is required to use an electric cart. SUBJE:T Proposed Resolution - Greater Miami Women's Golf Association REFERE14CES ENCLOSURES It is recommended that the City grant free green fees for the Greater Miami Women's Golf Association on May 17, 1982 at the Country Club of Miami Springs and June 22, 1982, at Melreese Golf Course and further requiring use of electric carts by each golfer on said tournament, as per the at- tached resolution. The City of Miami has, in the past, allowed the Greater Miami Women's Golf Association two days use of the City golf courses requir- ing mandatory electric carts with free green fees. They are also receiving free green fees at other municipal courses; Biltmore in Coral Gables and the County course at Palmetto. The group normally plays between 60 to 80 women whom support our golf courses throughout the year. It is, therefore, the recommendation of the Department of Leisure services, that the request for free green fees for May 17, and June 22, 1982, be granted to the Greater Miami a� Women's Golf Association.
