City Manager
SUBJECT proposed Resolution
Donating a No -longer
FROM Seriveable Fire Dept.
SCI Programe Coordlna or Rescue Ambulance.
Marcos A. Kolily
Under Ordinance No.80-118, adopted by the City Commission,
the City of Montes de Oca (Costa Rica) was designated as
a Sister City of Miami. -
The City of Miami since the inception of Miami-Montes de Oca
Sister'City Program has provided various services and techinical
assistance to its Sister City. In April of this year, we
furnished a most valuable Technical Assistance to the Consejo
de Seguridad de' Transito Vial (National Traffic Safety Council)..
through Miami's Police and Fire Departments.
The National Traffic Safety Council had requested from us, that
if there were ever an opportunity of obtaining a used surplus
Rescue unit to please bear them in mind.
It so happens, that the Miami Fire Department's former Rescue
Ambulance R-901 suffered an accident and declared a TOTAL LOSS
and is no longer serviceable.
In view of the above, I therefore recommend that the attached
resolution be placed on the December 10,1981 agenda for the
Commission's approval.
