IN THE PROPOSED AMOUNT OF $328,2829 ADDITIVE ITEM "A' PLUS ADDITIVE ITEM "B" OF THE PROPOSAL, FOR THE MIAMI RIVERWALK WITH MONIES THEREFOR ALLOCATED FROM THE CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT ORDINANCE 9353, IN THE AMOUNT OF $3289282 TO COVER THE CONTRACT COST; ALLOCATING FROM SAID FUNDS THE AMOUNT OF $21,100 TO COVER THE COST OF PROJECT EXPENSE; ALLOCATING FROM SAID FUNDS THE AMOUNT OF $122063 TO COVER THE INDIRECT COST; AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT WITH SAID FIRM WHEREAS, sealed bids were received January 7, 1982 for THE MIAMI RIVERWALK AND THE CITY OF MIAMI/UNIVERSITY OF MIAMI JAMES L. KNIGHT INTERNATIONAL CENTER LANDSCAPING; and WHEREAS, the proposed Miami Riverwalk will be located immediately to the south and adjacent to the Convention Center; and WHEREAS, any important landscaping beautification project for the Convention Center will, by necessity, involve the reconstruction and improvement of the bulkhead to the south and its surrounding areas; and WHEREAS, the City Manager reports that the bid of S. I. Nicholas, Inc., for Additive Item "A' plus Additive Item "B" of the proposal, is the lowest responsible bid and recommends that a contract be awarded to said firm; and WHEREAS, funds for this project are available from the Capital Improvement Ordinance 9353, as amended, as set forth under Section IX, Cii3; and WHEREAS, the City of Miami, by Resolution No. 82-137, passed on February 11, 1982, expressed a willingness to award Additive Items "A' or "B", or a combination of both, to said firm pending the availability of funds; and CITY COMMISSION MEETING OF MAR 16 1982 �oounan No.... 8 2 - 2 1 / ...M.....M..�....../N�ID E1 r vil H 0 0 WHEREAS, S.I. Nicholas, Inc. has agreed to extend its proposal for both Additive Item "A" and Additive Item "B" for a period of 30 days from the date of said Resolution No. 82-137; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The January 7, 1982 bid of S. I. Nicholas, Inc., in the proposed amount of $328,282 for the project entitled THE MIAMI RIVERWALK, for Additive Item "A" plus Additive Item "B" of the proposal, based on a lump sum price stated therein. Section 2. The amount of $328,282 is hereby allocated form the aforesaid fund to cover the cost of said contract. Section 3. The additional amount of $2,100 is hereby allocated form the aforesaid fund to cover the cost of project expense. Section 4. The additional amount of $12,063 is hereby allocated from the aforesaid account to cover indirect cost. Section 5. The City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into a contract on behalf of The City of Miami with S. I. Nicholas, Inc., for THE MIAMI RIVERWALK, base Additive Item "A' plus Additive Item "B" of the proposal. PASSED AND ADOPTED this 16 day of MARCH 1982. Bids were received on January 7, 1982 for construction of the Riverwalk in front of the City of Miami/university of Miami James L. Knight International Center and the north bang- of the Miami River. As reflected in the tabulation of bids, the bid of S. I. Nicholas, Inc. in the amount of $3281202, for Additive Item "A" and Additive Item "B", was the lowest resporisible bid. A total of three bids ;sere receive:. On February 11, 1982, Resolution IN(.). 82-137 was passed by the Commission accepting the base bid plus Additive Item licit, with a stipulation that Additive Items "A" and "B" would be awarded to the same contractor pending; availability of funds. Funds for this project have been now allocated from the Capital Improvement Ordinance No. 9353 to cover the cost of Additive Items "A" and "Bit, plus project expense and incidental items.
