!� A RESOLUTION APPROVING A ONE (1) YEAR
EXTENSION OF EMPLOYMENT PAST THE AGE
OF 70 FOR ELIZABETH BUSH ,
AUDITORIUM MANAGER , DEPARTMENT
OF STADIUMS AND MARINAS
EFFECTIVE NOVEMBER 9, 1981 ,
THROUGH NOVEMBER 9, 1982 ,
1 WITH THE PROVISION THAT IN THE EVENT
OF A ROLLBACK OR LAYOFF, ELIZABETH
t BUSH RATHER THAN A JUNIOR
I EMPLOYEE WOULD BE AFFECTED.
WHEREAS, the Civil Service Board, on FEBRUARY 16 , 1982 ,
unanimously recommended the approval of employment past the age of 70_
for ELIZABETH BUSH , AUDITORIUM MANAGER , Department of
STADIUMS AND MARINAS , and;
WHEREAS, the City Physician has determined that the physical
condition of said ELIZABETH BUSH is satisfactory for continued
employment;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI FLORIDA:
Section 1. A one (1) year extension of employment past the age
of 70 is hereby granted for ELIZABETH BUSH , AUDITORIUM MANAGER
Department of STADIUMS AND MARINAS , effective NOVEMBER 9,
19 81 , through NOVEMBER 9 , 19 82 , with the provision that in
the event of a rollback or layoff, ELIZABETH BUSH , rather than a
juniox employee would be affected.
PASSED AND ADOPTED THIS 16 DAY OF MARCH , 19 82

Attached is a draft resolution
providing for the extension of
employment for Elizabeth Bush,
Auditorium Manager, Department
of Stadiums and Marinas pur-
suant to Sec. 40-207 of the Ci-
ty Code.
The Civil Service Board, at its meeting of February 16, 1982, unani-
mously approved a one (1) year extension of employment past the age
of seventy (70) for Elizabeth Bush, Auditorium Manager, Department
of Stadiums and Marinas.
It is respectfully requested that a Resolution be adopted extending
Ms. Bush's employment from November 9, 1981 to November 9, 1982.

At its meeting of February 16, 1982, the Civil Service Board considered
the request of Elizabeth Bush, Auditorium Manager in the Department of
Stadiums and Marinas, for an extension of employment for a period of
one (1) year, to be effective November 9, 1981 to November 9, 1982.
The Board noted that Mr. R. Paul Young, General Manager, Coconut Grove
Exhibition Center, has recommended approval of this request and that
Dr. L.A. Toto, City Physician, had found Ms. Bush physically qualified
to continue employment for the additional year.
The Board voted to approve the request, with the provision that in the
event of a rollback or layoff, Ms. Bush, rather than a junior employee,
would be affected, noting that this is in accordance with past policy.

Ms. Elizabeth Bush, who is classified as the Bayfront
Park Municipal Auditorium Manager, requested continuation
of active service beyond her 70th birthday on November 9,
1981.
Ms. Bush reached mandatory retirement effective November
20, 1981, but has requested additional active service. It
appears that Ms. Bush is in excellent health,and her enthu-
siasm,and exuberance for her job is intact. Therefore, I
am recommending that she be granted a one year extension of
employment.
