FOR FURNISHING 6,000 NURSERY TREES TO THE DEPARTMENT OF PARKS; AT A TOTAL COST OF $10,090.08; ALLOCATING FUNDS THEREFOR FROM THE FIFTH YEAR COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT FUNDS: AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER AND THE PURCHASING AGENT TO ISSUE THE PURCHASE ORDER FOR THESE MATERIALS. WHEREAS, pursuant to public notice, sealed bids were received February 16, 1982 for the furnishing of 6,000 Nursery Trees to the Department of Parks; and WHEREAS, invitations were mailed to 18 potential suppliers and 4 bids were received; and WHEREAS, funds for this purchase are available in the Fifth Year Community Development Block Grant Funds; and WHEREAS, these materials will be used by the Department of Parks for the purpose of landscaping Community Development projects throughout the city; and WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Department of Parks recom- mend that the bid received from Glenda's Nursery and Landscaping, Inc. be accepted as the most advantageous bid to the City; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The February 16, 1982 bid of Glenda's Nursery and Landscaping, Inc. for furnishing 6,000 Nursery Trees to the Depart- ment of Parks; at a total costof $10,090.08 is hereby accepted with funds therefor hereby allocated from the Fifth Year Community Develop- ment Block Grant Funds. Section 2. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to in- struct the Purchasing Agent to issue the Purchase Order for these materials. Mu lins Award of Bid, Tabulation, Purchasing Agent Resolution It is recommended that the award be made and a resolution be passed accepting the most advanta- geous bid as received from Glenda's Nursery and Landscaping, Inc. for furnishing approximately 6,000 Nursery Trees at a total cost of $10,090.08. Pursuant to public notice, sealed bids were received February 16, 1982 for furnishing approximately 6,000 small nursery trees to the Department of Parks. Invitations were mailed to 18 potential suppliers and 4 bids were received as per the attached tabulation. One "No -Bid" was also received. Funds for this purchase are available in Community Development, • Target Area WideTree Planting Project, 5th Year Community_ Develop- ment Block Grant Funds. These trees will be used in landscaping Community Development pro- jects throughout the cite. The Department of Parks concurs with this recommendation.
