City Commission Agenda -
April 1, 1982
It is recommended that a resolution be
approved authorizing the City Manager
to amend the Little Havana Activities
and Nutrition Centers of Dade County,
Inc. contract for the implementation
of a housing assistance project for
Cuban and Haitian refugees, such
amendment to provide for a two -month
extention in the contract through
May 31, 1982; and authorizing the
agency to utilize the balance of unex-
pended funds through May 31, 1982.
The City of Miami received a grant from the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban
Development for refugee assistance from the Secretary's Discretionary Fund.
$120,000 from said grant was allocated to the Little Havana Activities and
Nutrition Centers of Dade County, Inc. for the implementation of a housing
assistance project for Cuban and Haitian refugees for the period commencing
June 1, 1981 and ending March 31, 1982.
Since this program is still needed, and there is a balance of approximately
$38,000 in their contract with the City, it is recommended that the City
Commission approve this Resolution extending the contract to May 31, 1982.
