The boys spent four days in the Mayaguez area and two days in San Juan. Our audiences were large and enthusiastic. We taped two television shows that will be aired throughout the island. Once we arrived in Puerto Rico, we were the guests of Antillian College for the duration of ovr star. The Boychoir performed for the general public, college students, school. children and church congregations. The Miami Boychoir represented our community very well. Since 1908 the Choral Society has provided inhabitants of this city the opportunity to study and perform the finest in choral literature with top professional teachers and musicians. Choirs under the au,pices of the Society have performed concerts in our city, the state of Florida, the Southern U.S., Europe and Central and ;youth America. Each performance has brought reLognition to PIiami. Each has characterized, through the children, our cities uniqueness and potential. Due to the current economic: crunch, not to mention cutbacks in Federal and State aid to the arts, the Miami Choral Society will show a $30,000 deficit for this season unless we receive financial support from those we have supliorted for 14 years. I therefore request a grant of $15,000 from the City of Miami to the Miami Choral Society, Inc. If an outright gran` is not possible, would it be agreeable for us to do five concerts for the city for a donation of $3,000 each? We have made every effort to reduce our costs for the remainder of this season, so that we can devote our efforts towards ending our fiscal year in the black, and planning ahead for the future. Thank you for your consideration of the enclosed proposal. Sincerely, Paul A. Eisenhart Artistic Director c.rl ' •3i/
