WHEREAS, pursuant to public notice, sealed bids were received April 19, 1982 for the furnishing of heavy equipment to the Department of Building and Vehicle Maintenance; and WHEREAS, invitations were mailed to 66 potential suppliers and 37 bids were received; and WHEREAS, funds for this purchase are available in the Garage Replacement Reserve Fund in the amount of S1,919,818.77 and in the Department of Parks Re- placement Fund in the amount of $263,301.16; and WHEREAS, this equipment will be used by the Department of Building and Vehicle Maintenance for the use of other City Departments; and WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Department of Building and Vehicle Maintenance recommend that the bids received from International Harvestor Co., H. F. Mason Equipment Co., Advanced Fabricators, Inc., DeBra Turf & Ind. Equip., Callahan Motor Co., Inc., Hebert Olds GMC, Inc., Friendly Ford, Inc., Growers Ford Tractor Co., Wildwood Industries, Inc., Blanchard Machinery, Inc, Vermeer Southeast Sales & Service, Inc., Rays Equip. Co. of So. Fla., Inc., Medco Int'l. Tractor Co., Inc., Tennant Co., Case Power & Equip. Co., Glenmac, Inc., So. Mill Creek Prod., Inc. Pursuant to public notice, sealed bids were received April 19, 1982 for furnishing Heavy Equipment to the Department of Building and Vehicle Maintenance. Invitations were mailed to 66 potential suppliers and 37 bids were received as per the attached tabulation. One No -Bid was also received. Funds for this purchase are available as follows: Garage Replacement Reserve Fund $1,919,818.77 Department of Parks Replacement Fund 263,301.16 Total 2 a 183.119. U This is a regular replacement of worn and obsolete equipment. The purchase also includes new and additional equipment for the Department of Parks, and 17 cab and chassis to be utilized in the rubbish crane rebuilding program.
